No I would not jump all over Les if LSU went 8-4. Looking at LSU's schedule what might be disappointing is if we lost to say, Troy. Between UGA, UF, Aubbie, Bama, S. Carolina and at Arkansas, there's a number of tough games we play.

Les has a National Title and 2 other bowl wins including another BCS win under his belt. We have to replace some key starters and have unproven quarterbacks. Nobody is mentioning the dual defensive cooridinator system to replace Pelini (abiet it will be the same system).

LSU has gotten rid of some riff raff under Les and for the most part the drama seems to be behind us (let's hope!). Also, no more 'is he going to Michigan' rumors for awhile.

Look at Fulmer and how long he's lived off of winning that one national title years ago. I think no matter what happens this season, Les will be fine.

if we finish 8-4 yes miles should take heat. not because its a sin against humanity or tigerfanity, its just because we expect to win 11 games a season because hes spoiled us like that. i wouldnt call for his job or anything, but you gotta keep his arse in check or hes gonna get lazy.

you just gotta keep the heat on thats all.

Not me. There's worse things in life than going to the Music City Bowl every now and then. We have a solid program in any event, and that drought wouldn't last long.

I'm trying to sound realistic and analytical, but believe me, I will be kicking the TV and cursing Miles after every loss this year.

But after the pain fades (and the hangover), I think 8 - 4 and a bowl win this year would be pretty damn good.

9-3 at worse

I think we finish the regular season at 10-2, though.

I wont care too much as long as we are playing well but losing due to inexperience or to clearly better teams. Losing just makes winning that much sweeter anyway.

See- even the mention of a possible 8 - 4 record brings out this reaction.

People- you cant go 11-1 and 10-2 every year in the SEC: it aint realistic.

Yeah, cause I want sit around and think about going 8-4...thats a good time.

Last I checked were the Natn'l Champs, so yes my standards are above Miss State!!

I stand by my reaction to your negative thread!

The coach at LSU takes heat even after wins, so yeah, there will definitely be heat.

Somebody finally got it right. Apparently many of the posters have short memories or just became tiger fans in the last year. Heck if we win them all but don't continuously cover the spread there would be bitching.

A bunch.

Yes, from the idiots.

With that being said, I'm predicting 9-3 but wouldn't be surprised if it is a game worse or a game better. 11 wins or better, and 7 wins or worse would be a shock.

First of all there has never been a better situation for an unexperienced quarterback to enter his college career. Lee/Hatch will have so much ridiculous talent around him that he will not have to be a playmaker whatsoever. He will be handing the ball off more than 50 % of the time to great running backs setting up his play action pass and opening up passing lanes.

If you could think of a better situation for an unexperienced QB to come into..... Please, I would love to hear it!

But thats my point, Mouth- this isnt a negative thread. I'm trying to say that 8 - 4 would be a good job on the part of the team and coaching staff, given the circumstances.

I'd love for LSU to go 13 - 0 every year, but it aint happenin. To think like that sets yourself up for disappointment.

Things set up better for us in 2009.

The only thing that could make it a better situation would be an easier schedule.

But the fact that Lee/Hatch will be inexperienced cant be ignored.

The usual morons who think they know more than any coach to ever walk the earth.

Does Les start to take heat

Only from the above mentioned morons.

Eventually you are going to have an off season. It happens to everyone. I was a fan during the years that we were not contending for the SEC Championship, let alone an NC. Realistically you know there is going to be that season that didn't pan out.

Yes, I know. And like I said earlier in this thread. I haven't missed a home game since 1991, and we all know what kind of team we had in the early and mid 90s. I'll be behind this team no matter what their record is.

I am trying to figure out which four games you think we are, without a doubt, going to lose. Are there really four teams on LSU's schedule that are better than us right now?
