Neighbors looked pretty good at finding someone relevant to hit to me also. Don't really need to blow up anyone just need to make enough contact which Neighbors really looks like he has a knack for. Still Copeland is great especially on short yardage when you do need to blow open a hole and it's easy to find someone to hit.

It is not a coincidence that 44 was on the bench on 14's TD run....and others.

Couldn't agree with you more! Neighbors went off against TCU. A number of LSU's Big Gains can be attributed to blocks set up by Neighbors.

Nothing against JC, love the big guy, but he's huge, hes scary, hes "The Punisher" but the only people he ever punishes is whoever he goes against in the BIG CAT drill. You would too if you played D Line your entire life...

Ego Ferguson was the only player that pulled a Copeland in the last game. Being a second late to the QB to draw a late hit is a lot different than what Copeland did vs Bama. Don't throw Ego under the bus like that.

Agreed... JC's mistake cost us 7 pts for that penalty. Didn't need to hit the guy at all. Much less 20 yards behind the play.

I Actually agree with the OP. Rewatch the game. There were a few times when JC wiffed or didn't have much effect on the blocker. When he is able to hit them square its all over. He is a bull. Neighbors was more consistent.

Amen to that. Ferguson was doing basically what he is supposed to and made a mistake that he had no more than about a second to consider. That sort of thing WILL happen if you are simply playing hard. What Copeland did last year againt Bama was DUMB and should never happen.

It is true. Neighbors had a much better game than Copeland.
I wonder how Melvin Jones' blocking is developing?

That's because he's a DT. It's cute he's played fullback, but since we've trotted walkon after walkon out there for years, his depth at DT would be nice now.

You can all say what you want, but Connor Neighbors was named the "starter" before the first game. Take that for what it is worth to you. I'm not knocking JC one little bit. They are both excellent Fbs that each bring a little something different. Both are beasts.

It's funny how quick people can turn on a guy. Copeland excels at opening up holes in the middle. He actually is surprisingly agile with the ball in his hands, and has proved to be a reliable enough receiver.
