Personally, on paper I think Cam could be a great coach in your scenario.

DAMN. I can tell you really don't give 2 shits about having a good defense.

Art Briles? No thank you.

Leach? You gotta be trolling at this point.

They'd definitely have to keep Chavis

Leach was a troll for sure, although I do love the guy, but I definitely think Briles would do well in BR

Would not be opposed to giving Chavis a shot - I think he's earned it even though he's content as an assistant.

I'd be perfectly fine with letting wilson take a stab at it....

Saban: not coming back here ever
Spurrier: hates LSU
Chavis: doesn't want to be a head coach
Wilson: over his head
Petrino: great coach; too risky
Mullen: over the fence now; not a chance anymore
Franklin: great coach; doesn't know Louisiana
Sarkisian: failing but with no talent

My guess is that Miles hired Cameron with the promise that he'll leave in 2-4 years. Cameron could easily have been head coach at another not-so-big program, I'm thinking the reason he's here is to take over eventually.

My vote would be James Franklin, Chris Peterson, Gary Patterson, Chip Kelly (if he returns to the college game), etc.

Hey look MarlinMan actually has some recommendations.
How about Bear Bryant if he were to rise from the grave?

I think John Gruden has the personality to recruit and handle the pressure, a rock solid offensive scheme and is an overall likeable guy. I think he would keep Chavis on board and I think he would really enjoy the competition in the SEC so he would stay for a long time.
