Then LSU should go to the Sugar over Auburn.

If Penn State does not get in, then the committee is ignoring head-to-head. LSU is now playing better than Auburn... why not ignore it here too?

They've picked their favorites. Now they have to gather the evidence to support their positions.

That's not entirely true. OSU has a better record than PSU for one and one of the most impressive resumes in college football.

I would have my top 4 as 1. Alabama, 2. Clemson, 3. Washington, 4. Ohio State. Ohio State has the better record with wins at Oklahoma, vs. Michigan, at Wisconsin. Penn State had a great year, but the blowout to Michigan and loss to Pitt matters.

The rules are a lot clearer regarding the Sugar Bowl. Next highest ranked team after Alabama. It's not LSU.

By the 2011 BCS criteria, LSU should be in the playoff. We played The consensus #1 team closer than anyone else all year, so we deserve a rematch!
But E$PN has already decided on which matchups it wants to televise, so that's exactly what we'll get.
Winning conferences and head-to-head doesn't matter. Only $$$ does!

If this is the direction that college football is taking, then they should do away with division within a conference and do away with conference champions.
It is a joke that Ohio State will compete for the National Championship, yet they did not win their division let alone their conference championship.

this is just stupid.
LSU and a Auburn have same record. Auburn beat us.

OSU and Ped St do not have the same record which bumps head to head down a notch.

Penn State won the head to head against Ohio State, won the division, and won the conference - and all of that will be ignored, because Ohio State is the bigger brand.

It sets an incredibly dangerous precedent going forward - specifically, that nothing really matters aside from the name on your uniform.

If you're a national brand name, you'll be protected. The fact that two conference champions in Washington and Penn State are worrying over which of them will be excluded, while everyone automatically assumes Ohio State is in, is a complete joke.

Just ask yourself this - if LSU was 11-2, had just won the SEC, and had beaten Alabama in the regular season, how many of you think that an 11-1 Alabama team should get in over an 11-2 LSU?

Penn State has more losses. Should USC go to the playoff over Washington too?

Yep. They've been trying to get $$$$$ and Urban matched up since before the first game.

Penn State has worse record.

not $. not brand. not protection.

more losses.
in games that happened.
on the field.

THEY LOST MORE GAMES.

lost. as in did not win.

Michigan has same record as Ped St. and beat the piss out of them.
Should they get in?

Head to head is only one factor. Overall record is more important, and Penn State lost 2 games, Ohio State only lost one.
