thats it JUST Fire Les for not playing Mett last year!!!!!!

Maybe ole mett was just not ready to take the helm and Les just didnt want to throw him to the wolves like JL got thrown to the wolves....

Nobody will every know somethimes we just need to trust the coaches we were not there in the practices to know for sure what was going on.....

But I am real Happy that both of the QBs that was at LSU last year are now gone and we can move on from them guys. man that was some struggling times for LSU fans

just my take

If Joe Montana was his name, and he was a sophomore under Coach Miles, with 2 experienced Sr Qb's on the roster, Joe Montana would not have played either.

It had nothing to do with Mettenberger being good, great or poor in practice or his limited game experience. It had nothing to do with Mettenberger in any way, shape or form. It had everything to do with the discretion of our Head Coach. Period. End of Story. Forever. Amen.

Mett not seeing much action last year was a Les Miles decision. Mett should have seen playing time before the backup senior QB saw the field.

Now, whether Mett should have started or not is a difficult question to answer. I, for one, believe he was a better QB than either of the seniors. Good lord, he'd have to be.

Posted by longhorn22 I just don't think he's as good as everyone is saying, just think he's something other than the mess we use to have. Just hoping we finally get some STABILITY from that position.

The kid isn't superman, he is a meer mortal. I think he will be an improvement on last year. I fear many LSU fans have vastly inflated expectations of ZM. This board will go into total melt down the first time he struggles. Then the Rivers faction will emerge
In a way a feel bad for ZM already.

Who is saying he's "all world" and what have you seen that makes you think he's not "as good as everyone is saying"?

I don't think anyone knows how good he might or might not be.

Just hold your water...there will be plenty time to knock Mett after you see how he does when he's the go to guy. What's the rush?

the right answer for the rantards is this:

if he's awesome-
he was awesome last year and should've played.

if he's mediocre-
he should have at least played over JJ or JL.

if he sucks-
Miles can't coach

but the answer will never be:
he was good last year but just not as ready as JJ/JL but he will be great this year b/c of miles/krag developing him.

Last season we had a brutal schedule and he was a young QB in his third system in 3 years playing behind two senior QBs, he wasnt ready to face the pressure that he would be under to be the savior at QB for a National title contending team. Last time Les had to play a guy that wasnt ready, it was Lee and Jefferson in 08 and it messed him up permantly and caused this whole mess

I dont get the people that say "If he was so good we would have seen him last year". You act like every good QB ever started from day 1 and never had a guy ahead of him that he was better than

Now stop asking the same stupid question
