And if Joe Montana had been a 20yr. old college junior last year at LSU, he would have gotten no more snaps than Mett got.

he had been with the team less than a year, they werent going to throw him out there. He may not be the best in the sec, but hes not going to be the worst either.
Changing qbs already seem to have split the team up even though we were winning. Even in 08 you saw the frustrations from offensive players with a new qb. They were sticking with one of the srs unless both either got kicked off or injured.

If Mettenberger is all world this year, why didn't he play last year?
It was all part of a sinister plot by Les Miles. He was trying to see how many games LSU could lose by not playing Mettenberger. Unfortunately for him the plan backfired and LSU won 13 games. He is going to give it another try this year.
There that's it in a nutshell, for you nutcases out there.

You can be neither a nutcase nor a conspiracy theorist and conclude that Mett was not given adequate snaps in action last year to properly prepare/develop him.
We may pay a price THIS year for all the fourth quarter plays run by JJ and JL when the game was already decided.
Les Miles is VERY good at some things...
But boneheaded and stubborn about others.

QB was not an issue last except the last game.
JJ sucked balls versus Georgia.
The D and Special teams (TM7) saved his bacon and Les thought the same would work against Bama.
Oh well, live and learn (hopefully).

The funny thing is you actually think that

Because our coach is not (all world).

If Texas is so shitty year after year, why do they keep getting top 25 preseason rankings?

LSU v Bama part 1 ?

I'm a tad bit worried about his athleticism. I don't think we'll run much of the option with him. Hopefully we open the playbook up for passing a lot though

So any time a great player comes through LSU he absolutely positively should have played right away. It couldn't be that practice and maturity that made a player better before he got great.

How many snaps have you EVER seen the 3rd string QB get on ANY football team???
Whatever snaps Mett got one thing is for sure, he got more than either JJ/JL were given "to properly prepare/develop" themselves....right.

I cant believe all the nitwits in this thread that cant see the past and the future pictures for LSU.
Last year was supposed to be a mediocre year for LSU due to the QB situation and some unknowns on key positions on both sides of the ball. The whole picture blew up when people like Mo, TM7, Reid,Brockers, and JL had performances above predictions and stuck a perfect season up until the NC. By all the projections it was supposed to be Bama's year to reign again.
Also, Looking forward from last year the 2012 season was supposd to be LSU's rise to the top. Now figure if Mett played last year and won a NC then he was elegible for the draft. LSU WOULD HAVE ZERO QB'S THIS YEAR - ZERO!
I still would have inserted Mett in the NC in relief even with this scenario because he would have had too little game experience.
It may have been distasteful to many but ole Les was "saving his bullet for the wolf" Or in other words he had to have Mett in 2012 and possibly 2013 to sustain the program or have it collapse due to a total QB vacancy...

If this needs to be answered for you then you are not a true LSU fan and did not follow the team and fiasco that Coach Miles made of the season
