Not trying to be a Homer but lsu is winning with strong rb's and good defense, and Effective throwing

Bama is winning with the samething, so why is lsu only being called one-dimensional.

It's LSU man, everyone loves to hate us. It's what happens when you are a force in the SEC.

Bama has put up bigger passing numbers, sometimes out of necessity and sometimes at the detriment of the running game.

I wouldn't put too much stock into though. It's gonna be an old school smashmouth football game when the two teams line up against one another.

The same reason that before the season LSU wasn't supposed to be good because they were breaking in a new QB, but breaking in a new QB wasn't even an issue for anyone else.

LSU will never get the benefit of the doubt, it's just the way it is. Always have to prove themselves before people believe.

They will garner deserved credibility when they beat 'Bama. Until then, forget it.

Alabama is a bit more balanced than LSU at this stage of the season.

Bama - 237 passing attemps for 1620 yards and 12 tds
291 rushing attempts for 1391 yards and 15 td

LSU - 109 passing attempts for 812 yards and 6 tds
282 rushing attempts for 2085 yards and 21 tds

for pointing out that Bama is more balanced?

Bama is 53% pass and 46% run

LSU is 30% pass and 70% run

just pointing out facts for the OP

This is interesting. Our offense has been somewhat more effective..
Tied at 27 Tds, and only 114 yards less.
in 1 less game.

Bama had to basically abandon the run game in the second half vs OM.

I want like hell for us to beat Alabama. But I think there is some "obsession" over comparing us to them by our own fans.

Truth is I think the media likes to have teams from different parts of the country that they consider the classic/power team over the long haul. In the Mid West, they gravitate to Ohio State, far west to USC, Northeast to Penn State, Great Lakes to Notre Dame, old west to Oklahoma, etc.

And for what might be called the old south they have always gravitated towards Alabama. And although there have been other good and great teams that arise from time to time - us, Florida, Auburn, Tenn. - they still tend to look on Alabama differently. And to be honest, Alabama does have a lot of accomplishments over the years.

For this reason they tend to look at these teams through a different lens. We are "one dimensional". They are "power running", etc.

It is what it is. I think we've come a long way in their eyes. We've won 3 National Championships, two recently. As recently as this year, some of the talking heads had us as a dark horse for the playoffs even before the season. But I think it would take something like a 50 year run with multiple national championships for us to be considered "the team" for the area.

I don't even feel like we're one dimensional because we have a QB that can throw. Now when we had AJ that was ONE dimensional. When we needed to pass on 3rd it was like "let's hope we get lucky". Now you get excited to see us pass on 3rd. That don't seem too one dimensional to me. But let em think what they want. Touchdown B. Harris...again.
