Hopefully nobody separates himself before they register for school. Once they attend a class they are locked for the year. Until they register and attend a class they are not a part of the 2014 team. When do classes start? I doubt if you see Harris named as starter before then. Harris will stay, because he is closing fast on Jennings, but Jennings might bail.

Whats the point of learning if you never get to use it on the field?

It would be a super serious dent because there will be only one.

It could happen. If so Les will have to recruit a half dozen more like Harris. Since we are going back to a running QB then it exposes Harris to injury at any moment. Since its easier to run than be good in the pocket we resort to what almost eveybody else does and go to a runner. I guess we can't say this OL will be as good as expected if we can't "protect" a QB in the pocket. I think I am just a little upset at losing a few unknown talents like Rivers and Rettig.

Hopefully one separates himself from the other by mid August to prepare for Wisconsin. If that is Harris and I am Jennings, I look at my future and wonder if I should leave. I still predict Jennings will start to avoid throwing in a true freshman but I don't know how good Harris really is in practice.

If Harris starts and does well later in the season, I doubt Jennings will stay. Which kills our depth. We just lost 3 QBs from our roster last year in Mett, Rivers, and Rettig. Losing Jennings would suck if Harris got injured.

we should just paste this into each of the 100000 threads that will pop up about this until Sept (or Aug 30 to be exact).

With all the Harris hype and people on the train believing he will start, where does that leave Jennings if this does come to fruition?

They are both going to play a lot this year, so who cares. They might both play a lot for three years.

I'm not sure why people just assume this. Miles has said he wouldn't be averse to both playing, and I'm sure early on will be a bit of a trial run for both, but I really think their skill sets are too similar for us to have a 2-QB system. Just doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

Don't like AJ's throwing motion. It's strange. Even against Arky, a couple of those mid-field completions seemed very lucky, like they were lobbed in. To compare to golf, very few bag swings hold up under pressure (exception Furyk), and there will be a lot of pressure at the LSU QB position in this conference.

Do you think Harris will transfer when the next QB comes in? I gotta feeling he is gonna be great.

May work out for Rivers, the guy at Bama from FSU.

Hopefully he knows what misfits are included in LSU's "fan" base. Some of the dreads of the earth. Also hopefully he does not come here and expect any semblance of sanity. If he does he will be driven insane.

AJ and any other Tiger or future Tiger, stay away from here! This is not a place for you.

No matter what people tell you, this is definitely a legit question as it has been a Free Agency the past few offseasons.

It is a possibility. I mean I've seen several QBs leave when they are fighting for the backup spot and the starter only has one or two years left. All I can say is that I hope he doesn't.

Thing is, he has already played and is the immediate backup so he will not a have chance to redshirt. If he can't beat Harris out next spring, he will be gone unless he is ok with just playing at LSU.

This is all assuming Harris starts and plays all year this year though.

You have to think about it, if he Harris beats him out again next spring (Jennings junior season), he's all but done unless a serious injury happens. He won't be able to redshirt because he is will be the immediate backup. So say he loses out, if he graduates in the summer he can immediately play somewhere else. With three offseasons of Cam's teachings, I believe he would easily start somewhere else.

Correct. I don't really count that as a reason to say the QBs under Miles have sucked.

Think about it, Mett as a fourth year junior sucked. Lee and JJ sucked, Hatch sucked, Shepard went immediately to playing RB/WR, Randall couldn't crack the four deep, Rivers was beat out by true freshman twice, Bolden was fourth string at best, Garrett quit, Perriloux got in trouble and was kicked off, other Lee left for baseball, Rettig transfers, Jennings might get beat out.

Let's face it, the QB situation has been hot garbage all around for one reason or another. It has been a complete mess. I mean, it is what it is. Hopefully that changes with Cam.

I'm not expecting Mike Bobo/Richt, Sumlin, Kingsbury, Pinkel, level of consistent success with QBs. I just want some competence over several years. My belief is that Cam will do just that. We hit the jackpot with Chavis and I think we hit the mother load with Cam.
