But signing day is 9 months away and we don't have a 2015 QB that could lend depth, under the assumption that Harris starts and under the assumption that Harris starting would cause Jennings to transfer!!!1

That LSU isn't a qb factory.
I'm just stating a fact about the qbs during LM time here.
Geees.

U guy's worry too much. We will be fine. If Jennings would want to leave this quick, maybe we should let him go. I am sure Les wants players who want to play for the Tigers.

We also didn't have a decent QB coach until 2011 and he got sick and couldn't fulfill his role. I think the "Bad QB play under Les" thing will be long gone in the very near future.

I'm just concerned he may transfer for playing time if he doesn't get the starting spot. I like the kid and he has a ton of potential, plus that would leave us without a reliable 2nd string guy.
Thoughts?
Time to become a Southeastern Louisiana University Fan. #LIONUP

And it was really only Lee/Jefferson. People act like we've had 7 or 8 QBs roll through BR and were horrible.

Thats true .
Let's hope we keep him around.

Andrew Hatch started for LSU

I don't know why he would transfer unless Harris lights it up. Its a totally different situation for someone like Rivers and Rettig who are behind 2 guys. 1 bad play and whoever the backup is becomes the guy.

I'm pretty sure people refer to the recruiting and attrition as main problem.
I still believe JLee would have left LSU as top 10 had it bit been for the rough start he had as a freshman.
JJ got worse as he got more experience.

You would have to ask Jennings, right? I doubt he would , but that's just a guess

Correct. I don't really count that as a reason to say the QBs under Miles have sucked.
If Jennings and Harris went and got in some fights and got kicked off the team, I think the QB position probably wouldn't be very strong in 2014 either.

In his defense, it isn't like he was really ever that good

I know you're a Lee supporter, but I would definitely disagree with that. And it isn't a bash on him. I just don't think he would have been a top 10 QB. And it's pretty hard to say, yeah he would have been a great QB had he not thrown 6 or 7 pick 6s as a freshman

If Harris starts and does well later in the season, I doubt Jennings will stay. Which kills our depth. We just lost 3 QBs from our roster last year in Mett, Rivers, and Rettig. Losing Jennings would suck if Harris got injured.
Brandon Bergeron to the rescue!

Yeah, top-10 is quite a stretch. I do agree he would have been a lot better for us if he wouldn't have been thrown into the fire and forced to learn under Gary fricking Crowton from day 1. Just one year under Krags turned him from terrible to decent.

I don't expect Cameron to be around for all of Harris' career. If he has success he will get another he's coaching opportunity. Harris and Jennings could be worse than jefferson. Nobody knows but because we recruited them people think the will be great. Mett was the only QB miles recruited who actually had great success. Over half of his QB recruits have left the program. Hopefully the future is brighter but as long as we win 10 games we aren't allowed to complain.

If Harris starts, do we lose Jennings?
Actually the threat of both of them having a minor injury at the same time is somewhat worrisome.

Do away with the QB and just snap the ball to the Running Backs like in the Single Wing. All of them have a Trophy Head anyway!!
