Better than 6-6, I can assure you.

Max Johnson may not be the quarterback we needed, but the coaching staff absolutely failed him just as much as they failed the rest of the team.

Whatever his future holds, I wish him nothing but the best.

Saban don't put up with not doing your job, Max would get a lot of arse eatings or he would get better. You are going to see a big change in our team once they go through spring and summer camps with BK.

seriously dude wtf? Behind that OL with those WR's to throw too, that offense rolls with Max Johnson at QB. Probably he would be the Heisman winner this year if he were QB of Bama this year. Their record would either be 11-1, 12-0, or 10-2 depending on how the ball bounced. Most likely exactly what it is right now.

that I can agree with. Max is good but has his limitations and Nuss might not be what I thought he was going to be so far. Walker just might come in and win the starter spot right from the first game.

Bama wins the fricking NC every year no matter who is QB so they’d be in the same spot

Same record they have now.

Btw, this thread going like you thought it would, OP? Our shite season is hardly on Max. I think you put Bryce Young on this team and I would argue they come out with the same record we ended up with.

Normally i would disagree, but starting with a whole new staff and the position we're in, it might be a good idea.

If Bama had Max Johnson as starter..what is their record

If bama coaches were coaching him in the off season, he’d be significantly better than he is. Max isn’t bad… he’s not being coached properly.

People here often confuse bad coaching for lack of talent.

Bad. I'm guessing people don't watch Bama, but they air it out a lot. Johnson wouldn't even be the starter over there even if Young wasn't on that team.

LSU has one WR averaging over 15 yards and reception and only 2 average over 13.4

Williams is their leading receiver with 1445 yards and 15 TDs. He is averaging 21.25 yards per catch (first among guys with at least 50 catches).

yall really don't watch football that much. Bennett has been better than Johnson all year. Hell we literally have a statistical comparison this year

Johnson 50% 160 yards 5.0 yards per attempt 2 TD 1 int, -9 rushing 1 fumble

Bennett 60.4% 340 yards 7.1 yards per attempt 3 TD 2 int, 11 rush yards

Boxcar this is a complete dumbass take. Max is one of the worst deep ball passers I've ever seen and their leading WR has a deep ball catch damn near every game sometimes multiple.

Max is only good a tossing it to a guy 5-10 yards down the field and letting him do all the work. I've seen this dude stare down his receivers and run into pressure more than any QB in a while at LSU.

I don't care about him making 1-2 great throws every now and again, I want consistency and you won't get that with a guy who's WAY too dependent on his WRs having crazy catches or doing all the work on 5-10 yard passes.

BS! Without Young, the SEC Championship would have been a toss up.
With Max, it would have been a loss.
Hell Max would have been sacked double digits.
Young was the difference in that game.

Had this conversation with a friend yesterday. Kelly should not stop looking for a QB. Anyone who thinks we're all good with the QB situation suffers from severe kennel blindness. Max is mediocre+. Nuss has disappointed. Howard has yet to be seen.

Bama doesn't have the defense to do that this year. If Bryce Young wasn't in God mode every game (except Auburn), they'd have already lost multiple games.
