if it came full circle, then he'd try to make it a square.

To his credit, though, the coaches and players we have today are all here because of Miles.
And look how he used them.......
Les once said: "Death Valley, the place where opponents dreams come to die".
Now we can say "Death Valley, the place where LSU players dreams came to die".

He can pick up the LSU players dirty jock straps!

I wish someone hires him. Prob low tier team like Purdue or Kentucky. You know he will have Cameron and Pevito coaching with him. That would be entertaining to watch from the outside on another team I don't have to root for

From what I can tell about Coach Miles, he was probably just proud as hell to watch his guys win and dominate. He is nothing but class

Hopefully. Perhaps he'll realize how close his way was to the way we came out Saturday. We didn't need wholesale offensive changes. Ensminger and Dupre both said the play calls were things they've had in their pocket but hardly ever used. The slightest change in philosophy - throwing the ball a bit more on 1st downs - allowed LSU to still run the ball at will and maintain a run heavy offense the whole game. They also looked fresh all game.
I hope he finds peace in the fact that he was close, but needed to get out of his own way.

Right.
Who knows? Maybe this will finally be the wake-up call the man needed to realize that - if/when he is offered another HC job - he should act more like a Chief Executive Officer and let his OC (preferably not one of his buddies) do what they are paid to do.

It had to be somewhat embarrassing for him to see the offense explode and break records less than one week from his removal. I'm sure he's happy they won but that was the worst possible scenario for Miles because it proved he and Cam completely held that offense back.

I thought his comments in the interview were telling. He essentially said he has a want to call plays again, which insinuates he was doing plenty of that at LSU. I wouldn't recommend that he continue to do that at another stop, but he can sure as hell manage a program better than most.

I was excited about the win but I am not sure that people realize we weren't playing the '85 Bears defense out there.
I get wanting to be excited about the team, I just don't understand the need to create ridiculous false narratives.

Stop defending Miles. LSU set SEC records with the same players, and coaches that we have struggled in the past 2 years. Even against weaker opponents

C'mon, now... I've been as big a Miles supporter since 2005 as there has been on this site, but if there was any honest person who watched the game Saturday night and did NOT have this quote in their head the whole time, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
quote:
Q. When it was announced that you were returning as the coach last November, there seemed to be maybe an ultimatum agreement across the board that the offense had to improve, that changes had to be made for you guys to compete for championships again. The overwhelming feedback that we get is that nothing looked different than what you guys did in November. What is your assessment on what you guys did, and did you make effort to improve the offense?
LES MILES: Yeah, I think if we had five more passes, I think if a couple of those runs were returned into touchdowns, I think that you would look at us and look at the Texas Tech fix and say, hmm, a lot of similarities. We were spread in two back. We had some big plays out of two back, and we really operate out of three personnel groups, and it's three wides, doubles, four, a regular and two tight ends.
I think you would consider it an offense that has the width and breadth to take advantage of an opponent, so I can't imagine that -- I think what everybody is saying is, geez, you know, let's go for 600 yards and let's put 50 on people, and we're for that.
The issue is we have to find the recipe that allows that to happen because we have talent. I promise you this: We've recruited well, and there's some really, really good kids here and good people.
We're fighting it, and we're seeing what we can get to.
Truth is, we've played plenty of terrible defensive teams in the past 4 years and we've managed to make most of them look like the '85 Bears. Very few of us, even those that wanted the man to stay, would ever have the balls to say that we looked good most of the time on offense.
None of that means I think Orgeron is the long term solution, that Etling is Tom Brady, or that we're necessarily going to run the table this season...just that it became fairly obvious to all that, along with some solid execution, a few teaks were just about all it took to unleash a very potent offense. and all of that was done without the best p[layer in college football in uniform Saturday night.

His point about tapping the brakes is valid. This team has put up very similar days before - USCe last year is a perfect example. The excitement is fine, but we've got better defenses coming up and we'll know a lot more as we go.

Speaking of false narratives, I'm not sure where the narrative is coming from that Mizzou's defense is terrible.
Besides LSU, they've held each team they've played this year either right around or below their season scoring average.
I know that doesn't necessarily mean much 4 or 5 games into the season, but the notion that Missouri's defense is absolutely pitiful is unfounded.

Personally, I don't think he really cares. He seems like a guy who has short term memory. He probably thought about it for a second then saw some ribs or something and forgot all about it.

No its not. Miles has played some pretty terrible SEC teams and rarely did we see the display of offensive weapons that was saw on Sat

well...isn't this what we normally have to prepare for a team during the season?
