I think we can all come together here on the rant and agree: Miles gone = Great

Granted I am, in no way, pumped for the coming season and, frankly, think the hiring of Orgeron is retarded.

HOWEVER, at least we have moved on from that stick in the mud Miles and maybe just maybe we'll be good under Coach O.

Granted, I expect 9-10 win seasons from here on out max, but who cares? Coach O can be replaced quickly if worse comes to worse and Miles is still gone!

Let's Celebrate!

The only good thing is the possibility of a new coordinator that is worthwhile

O's success weighs very heavily on his hire at offensive coordinator.

OP, I agree...if we get the right OC, then we are set....CEO has stated many times that he wants to get the best DC and OC that we can find/afford and let them coach....he has shown that he recognizes coaches with superior abilities in the special areas as he has done with Aranda...in the business world, great CEOs hire the best and turn them loose and merely oversee until critical errors are made...CO wants very much to keep this job as it's the pinnacle in his world of football...he will not screw this up...jmho

I was a lot happier Miles is gone a week ago.

Unfortunately, now I half expect BeeFense to show up yelling "I told you so".

And, the a-hole would have a point.

The difficult thing to digest, is that if Miles had not been so stubborn and would have been willing to hire a true OC last year with autonomy, we'd be staring at 10-1 or better with a very bright future.

Since we hired O? No, I'm no longer happy Miles is gone. Miles >>>>>Orgeron. Explain why he's not.

I wish I could definitively say you're wrong.

And no one here is going to mistake me for a Miles supporter

The complaint is O isn't a mastermind on either side of the ball. What side of the ball was Miles expertise? Difference between the 2? Hopefully O stays out the way of his coordinators

My biggest concern is 8-4 becoming the norm due to the SEC being down, and it isn't quite bad enough to make a change.

Secomg biggest concern is the program craters immediately. Then we either let it burn or we pay two ex coaches and have Alleva in charge of another hire.

Difference between the two?!

Well, Miles is one of the winningest coaches in SEC history with a Natty in his record. He had been a coordinator and coached in the NFL. He had been successful a oky state. Annual top ten recruiting classes and maintained LSU as an powerhouse program in the toughest conference in football.

Orgeron? Well, he talks like some of us.

Srsly, all bullshite aside. Name a coach that maintained a program the way Miles did at LSU, then tell me he's not in elite company.

He wasn't that same coach the last 3+ years.

Orgeron took Les' shite offense and made them produce against teams they should've.

And I'm saying this as someone who thinks Alleva is a tard and did a horrible job and just settled.

Les had become a less than mediocre coach.

FIFY

I will give credit to O for shortening practices and allowing our guys to keep fresh and for the general steadiness he brought to the program in a hectic time.

True... and I give O credit for staying out of the way and let Ensminger call the game.
