First come/first serve. That's it. For big games I'm out there setting up my skeletons Friday afternoon. I park my car overnight and voila: Spot is mine.

No fricks given if someone was there the week before.

so you're in a different spot every week?

not judging, we also put frames out on fri and we've been in same spot since '95. but i always wonder how the nomads do it.

There is none. People that think they own a tailgating spot are pathetic losers.

Same lot every time, different spot along the street depending on what frames are up by that time.

If the OP is talking rules, there are no assigned spots. It may be an "understood" rule that people have certain spots, but If they get there late, it's their loss. Plain and simple.

Same here. We've been in "our spot" since '96 and have never really had a problems. I've always wondered about the traveling circus tailgaters.

You're obviously a winner. It isn't about owning a spot it is the fact that if someone tailgates there every Saturday why would you want to take that area? I'm just not into being a douche to other fans of my team when they haven't done anything but be a regular fan.

How is setting up in a spot that is vacant at the time of your arrival being a douche?

So you do this all the time in the same area. Have you never found a spot that you liked enough to just set up there every time? Just an exploratory question. Just seems like if you are there Friday evenings to set up why move around?

yeah most of the people with spots get there early around us. putting a tent in a spot and then not showing till noon is kind of dicky.

Sense of entitlement. They only act this way because anyone who has taken their spot has been nice enough to move.

If someone ever tells me I'm in their spot I show them other spots that are available. It's all about who gets their first.

There have been many Saturdays we got out there late and someone else was in our preferred spot. We don't get butt hurt. We do the adult thing and set up in a different spot usually not far away.

That's the only point I'm trying to make. If you have a spot you like, get there at a time that allow you to get it.

However, don't act like a douche when you arrive at 10am and someone has taken it. You will eventually run into someone like me that will tell you I got it first and there are other spots.

But taking someone elses spot you KNOW for a fact that always tailgates there, and saying "tough shite" isnt a sense of entitlement?

Well if you get there on Friday and set up at a spot where you know the same people set up every week I would consider that being a douche. On the other hand if they don't have some kind of place holder by Friday evening/night it's fair game. It's not a rule it's just something people do to be nice. I'm into being nice, if you aren't and don't care then cool.

someone took our spot in 03 (carolina game, yes i remember).

we took precautions to make sure it never happened again. and it hasn't.

btw: we never asked them to move, just let them know that we're there every week and asked where they came from.

I don't tailgate EVERY game, so I don't know who has claimed spots. I really don't pay that much attention.
