Go look at mauck and Flynn production, way better than Etling

Etling compares statistically almost identically to another LSU qb......

Harris

Yes, but show the stats for pocket presence, footwork, time management, completion percentage, and overall awareness. Then Etling wins by far.

But carry on

Your opinion of what they imply is, though. Seems like you and a lot of the other dipshits on this board who post cherry picked stats and use them to say that your opinion is concrete 100% fact need to spend some time trying to wrap your brains around that.

The people who spew a few random stats while leaving out other vital ones and ignoring things like intangibles are some of the dumbest motherfrickers on this website

Etling is legit. He's accurate, savvy, mature, and experienced. I agree he'll have a big season. I'll predict 2700 yards passing, 60% completions, 24 TDs, 7 picks, 200 yards rushing, 3 rushing TDs.

I hope you're right. He's not bad, I just don't see a very high ceiling with him. Hopefully with the help of Canada he will prove otherwise.

Hand picked stats?

Harris

54% ----- 2,756 yards ---- 7.9 yds/attempt ---- 20tds ---- 10ints ---- 2/1 td/int ratio ---- 134 rating

10-5 as a starter

66.67% winning pct

Danny Etling

60% ---- 1906 yards ----- 7.9 yds/attempt ---- 9 tds----- 4 int ----- 2.25td/1 int ratio ----- 135 rating

6-3 as a starter

66.67% winning pct

Dude forget the stats........if you cant see the difference in our offensive production with Etling in over Harris then you are just blind. Its not even close. We set records on offense almost every game he was the qb this year. With Harris we were lucky to break the huddle.

Hey I was a big Harris supporter but the evidence is impossible to ignore. Etling will not be beaten out of the starter job. And he will make a huge jump in the next year.

I really don't understand the criticism of Etling by a lot on this board. He's not Drew Brees but we've had far far worse starting quarterbacks recently. I hope he does improve, but I think he's done a great job this season, all things considered.

This. Etling may not have a ton of upside but he is pretty damn consistent considering the shite we have had at the QB position recently. I actually like Etling a lot. His awareness and pocket presence is exactly what we have longed for.

To paraphrase Doc Holiday in Tombstone; "Brandon, maybe reading defenses is just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest!"

He's average. So there is room for a major jump, I think that because he has no history with this coach, and because it's a brand new system, don't be srprised if you have a new signal caller come September

When Harris crosses midfield he turns into a 40% passer. That is because he lacks touch and accuracy. If you can't see that he clearly lacks in the ability to pass the ball we can't help you.

I know I saw Harris make a really bad decision to throw an interception against Wisconsin on a last-minute drive that cost us the game.

I know I saw Etling lead a last-minute drive against Auburn that ended with a touchdown pass on the last play as time expired.

The fact that Auburn's clock operators didn't stop the clock on first downs or runs OOB on that final drive isn't Danny's fault.

Agreed!

I also do not understand why some people fault Etling for having the same shortcomings as an NFL Hall of Fame quality quarterback.

"McCoy knows (Peyton) Manning’s limitations as a passer, including his underwhelming arm strength, velocity and touch on vertical throws."

I watched Peyton for years and all he did was WIN!

I agree. Ppl need to realize he hadn't played in two years before he started. He improved weekly especially after the bama struggles. Gonna be intersting how the qb comp shakes out. I'm sure everyone will start on equal ground
