I don't think it's safe to assume that Mett will be THE guy.

A lot of people seem to be thinking that he's already been ordained as the one true quarterback.

But if he had that JUCO time, lead drives in the northwestern game, and still isn't comfortable enough with the playbook at the end of this season, then I don't see how we can expect him to come out guns blazing next season.

I think we're going to have another dual system.

The only reason that I can think why he wouldn't be familiar enough with the current playbook style to play in the BCSNCG is that he's been practicing for a dual system.

With this head coach and his record with handling QBs, I'd say your premise is a valid one.

So you think the only reason a first year player, who has taken a very limited number of snaps in mop-up duty, didn't jump two seniors to play in a National Title Game is because "he didn't know the playbook?"

He lead a TD drive in the NW game. And he's not straight out of high school, he played in JUCO.

By now you should know that when a QB doesn't see the field it's always because he doesn't know the playbook.

If Jeffersuck can understand half a page of the playbook I'm sure Mettenberger can figure out at least 2-3.

Lee and his reputation were ruined by being thrown to the wolves before his time. You think les was going to do that again?
