I am sorry...but what are we going to need Harris for?...he cannot play to a high enough level...cannot throw the ball with touch...does not have the mental components to make defensive reads and adjustments....etc....get McMillan or Scott up to speed....at least McMillan showed touch on his only pass....Harris to scout team...then transfer....no upside potential here
This is so fricking retarded. He has shown flashes--albeit very briefly--of brilliance. He balled hard in two games his true freshman year. Had a couple of good games last year. With the online play against Wisconsin, he actually wasn't as terrible as it seemed. Make no mistake, he was not good, but he wasn't as terrible as he was ridiculed for being. He was hot garbage last week and deserved to be benched. But if they can get him to mature--to light a fire under his arse to compete instead of sulk--and design an offense that has him thinking less and just getting it in the shotgun and winging it--he may can regain his confidence and ball out again. He just needs to drop his balls, find that dog inside him, and compete his arse off.
At this point, I wouldn't bench Etling unless he gets hurt or really shits the bed. But Harris has the best arm and best wheels on the team at QB. He can be a weapon if he can get over the mental hump. But if you would rather McMillan or Scott this year to sub for Etling, you're fricking retarded.

Yes - we need all the QBs on the team ready to play to the best of their ability. But what we don't need is a repeat of the QB drama from 2011.

Either execute and produce or sit the bench.

it's going on 3 seasons now... it's not a slump, it's just who he is.

I think we will need both before it's over. Similar to how Jamarcus and Randall both had their games in 04. We don't 9 regular seasons games with only one of them that year.
Ex: Russell saves Oregon state, Randall saves UF
Great analogy as it shows that these issues at LSU aren't unique to Miles. As frustrating as it can be to watch, QB development is just not a perfect science. Harris really looking promising in relief during his Freshman season. Now he seems to be confused and troubled.

I wouldn't want to pass a judgement on that one video similar to you not giving him a benefit of doubt for this LINK

Yes, he should sit on the bench. And he is. But why hate on him?
And yes, he ran off the field earlier. I would imagine it was that he was disappointed in himself and thinking he may have blown a tremendous opportunity rather than he was upset Etling played well and we won. He may be immature, but I don't think he's an a-hole.

He played in like 3 games his true freshman year. Two were awesome, one was terrible. He had a mediocre season last year. He has stunk it up this year, no doubt, but he's played a season and 5 games, hardly "3 seasons."

That very well may be. But what do you gain from shitting on him? I see absolutely nothing positive from it.

Why can't we just want better QB play???
I couldn't give two shits who's sucking, I'd just like another option when it ain't working.
Harris ain't getting it done

Of course you can. We all do. But Harris shouldn't be getting "kill yourself" posts on social media.

He absolutely should not. These idiots are a part of every fanbase though, and I'd hope coaches or mentors in his life have prepared him mentally for this as it comes with the territory of big time football.
Can't be the hero without the risk of being the villain as well.

I'm with Les on this...Brandon Harris can't handle the full play book

It's hard to say when you never get to deeper plays due to 3 `n outs.

See that's the difference. I've been DONE WITH LES for some time now, and his pretending to know anything about QB evaluations is like white noise. Face it, BH, AJ, JJ JL, AH, RP, and even RS had been recruited and given that opportunity. I truly wish BH well, but Miles has ruined him.

As have I. Its ok to make a mistake, and its ok to be called out for it when you do.
I hope he learns from it and ends up better for it

Why is it on the fans to make Harris "feel good about himself?" That's entirely up to him

I don't hate brandon harris. why is any criticism seen as "hate"?
I was a huge proponent of harris and defended him against criticism since he got to LSU. He just doesnt have it when it comes to accuracy, mechanics, footwork, information processing and timing. so much time and coaching has gone to harris but it seems like it's just not sticking.

I am not hating on BH but I would have him at 3rd string. Etling 1, McMillian 2! Both have showed done better in games that BH has.
If neither of them can get it done then bring in BH! His play last year and this season is beyond a SLUMP! Maybe it is him... maybe it is the offense we run. Either way it doesn't matter.
I no longer trust our coaches to play the best QB after what I have seen the last few years.
BH MIGHT be better in practice but last time I checked practice points do not count on Saturdays.
Beckwith sat the bench much of last year. Were the coaches right making that decision? Point is they have been wrong before and all game time evidence suggest that they are wrong again.
