Hypothetically, would you still go to games if tailgating was banned?

Let's say the state passed some kind of law basically making tailgating illegal on state property.

I know they would still have sell out crowds, but who would give up their season tickets and/or stop going to the smaller games.

I would still go. Would just have everyone over at our house which is 10-15 min away and we'd drive into game an hour before.

If you are a fan of LSU then you will go. If not you will not go.

I find it rather amusing that tailgating as we know it today is a rather recent phenomenon at LSU....when I was a student, we would go out to eat and get to the stadium an hour or more before kickoff

I know a lot of people who couldn't care less about the game, it's all about the 6 hour tailgate party before hand. I'm not saying they are not LSU fans, I'm just saying the social event is bigger than the game to them.

I'm the same way. I couldn't care less about tailgating. I like to get there a couple hours before the game. Stop a few tailgate parties our friends are at, and go on into the stadium.

I don't tailgate, so it wouldn't affect me.

Hypothetically, would you post if there was no TD?

Absolutely. Tailgating exists for the event (LSU football), not the other way around.

This screams off season thread to me.

I go for the games...so yea...i'd still go. This "let me go to the tailgate/get drunk/act like an idiot so everyone will notice me and think i'm cool" mentality is just plain silly and for the younger set.

How about these fine alternatives to ponder. What if they...

Banned concessions?

Eliminated all bathrooms in the stadium?

Made cheering illegal?

Wouldn't let you in without first showing a naked pic of your wife?

I went to and enjoyed games before I was old enough to tailgate and I still go to and enjoy games now that I am too old to tailgate.

I think this would be impossible to enforce any way.

I would probably go to more games, honestly. The parking situation would improve and I wouldn't have to go to campus eight hours before kickoff.

This is probably the best answer.
