Curious what could be done to this? You've got the stadium club windows in there. I'm just not sure what could be done to make a cohesive Colosseum/arches look.

Even working from scratch I don't know that it works to continue the arch look given the size and height of the west side. They could have done better though to make a grand facade out of what is the most visible portion of the stadium.

To me something similar to the new Yankee Stadium could have provided that grand facade with a classic look. Doesn't continue the arches but connects different sides of the stadium with a similar look.

What if we tear tiger stadium down and build the new tiger stadium...... Drum rollllllll....... "death bayou"

Then we wouldn't share Death Valley, even though LSU IS Death Valley.

Won't need to get that big
Will be on top of mikes cage and the PMAC
Cover up the last remaining iconic colosseum look.

Don't want ever.

They will tear down an upper deck before they build on the north IMO

you wouldn't really need an expansion as such...even some sort of platform at the top of the NEZ where you could put some concession stands and restrooms....AND have an upper level exit hooked into the east and west uppers for fire exits...

that way you could pack the students in like we used to be...and the fire marshalls would be happy for safety reasons....

I don't think you have to worry much. imo, actual ATTENDENCE at most football venues is peaking and probably has peaked. Louisiana doesn't grow very much population wise due to the fact our economy just isn't strong enough to enlarge the job picture. add to that the propensity for many to just enjoy the game at home in AC comfort on huge hi-def TV sets or at a bar venue. the price of the actual live experience and the hassle of the traffic is becoming more and more of an obstacle. I think Tiger Stadium will remain at the present size for a long time. what needs to be done is improve the experience of the inside of the stadium

I think Granddad has something there. Internal revisions probably. Major construction doubtful. At this point it might be cheaper to tear it down and build anew. I think that would suck, but it is about the $ investment these days, but I don't see it happening for two or three decades at least or any other very big venue in the SEC for that matter.

An architect prolly would just leave the club windows alone, and try to tie the rest of it into the stadium.

Or, LSU could do what was done before, and tear down both east and west and build replica's of the south end zone addition in their place.

Then we'd be talking.

Why? There is absolutely no need. Most Tiger fans have huge cocks anyway so don't need to engage in stadium dick measuring exercises.

Cool designs in the post though

The most games we can play is 8. We know LSU has committed to never play a quality OOC at home again, so that reduces it to 4.

TV deals reduce night games down to 1-2 and chances are one of those will be against an unranked opponent...so we would likely only need additional seats for ONE game.

One of the ideas being kicked around involves closing the street to traffic and creating a champions square type deal. It will be expanded eventually.

They're not doing away with Stadium drive.

They are not taking out part of the PMAC ramps.

End of story.

I think the future is more of what Geauxld presented with a tear down of the West then maybe the East and replicate the SEZ with premium seating and suites all over the damn place.

Need more suites? Replace the top few rows of the East and West upper decks and add them. Expansion is not needed...the stadium does not need to have more seats, leave the North Endzone alone...

I appreciate the effort and thought that you put into your OP.

I'm not smart enough, nor have any of the details to even have an opinion on a NEZ expansion.

But since you mentioned the continuity of the exterior...

I'm very disappointed in the design of West side. To me, it looks like whoever designed it had no clue about existing architecture at LSU... not sure the two even match each other. And oh yeah, let's just put a couple Lego blocks up on the top.

Some things are difficult to comprehend how adults made organized decisions that lead to such results.

How many $'s were invested in this?

The failure has almost made me apathetic to future renovations.

ETA: Changed architectural comment to West side, vs South EZ.

Agreed. We don't have the attendance to justify adding more.

It'd be a much better investment to modernize the interior completely.

I'm talking gutting it.

Then we need to redo the exterior everywhere but the NEZ to match the NEZ. That facade is so damn beautiful.
