If LSU wins out and & wins the SEC championship, do we get into the CFP?

I understand a lot needs to happen, but it would be fitting if the Tigers were the first playoff team with 2 losses.

How come? We could have 6 straight wins against ranked teams.

If we absolutely curb stomp Bama...maybe. Hence, we will not go to the CFP.

If the Big 12 cannibalizes itself and they have a two loss champ as well we could slip into that 4 spot.
1. OSU/Michigan
2. Clemson
3. Washington
4. LSU

I sure as hell hope so! It will be fun to watch!

Honestly if Bama only loss is to LSU and is 12-1 it will be interesting! LSU has to win out.

Hard to say, but if we beat all these ranked teams consecutive, I see there being a chance. You have to think the playoff committee would consider the 2 losses under miles. Just have to see how it plays out IF we would happen to do that

I don't think it is likely LSU wins out; however, LSU will have the same number of wins and the head to head. They would also have wins over the top two eastern division teams most likely.

A couuple of weeks back on the college football show on ESPN, Joey Galloway, Paul finebaum, David pollack, and the 4th panelist discussed this topic after coach O had gotten off to a hot start. None of them thought LSU would win out, but ALL of them said that LSU would 100% be in the playoff if they win out and are SEC champs.

Wouldn't matter. The toss dive extravaganza that caused us to lose two games omitted us from contention this year.

Had we spread the field from game one, we would be in if we had run the gauntlet.

On top of all this it looks as if we will play 8 ranked teams this year. That is equal to Ohio St, Michigan, Washington, and Clemson combined.

If LSU is left out in that scenario, I would never play a decent OOC opponent again in the regular season.

What would shake up the place is if we win out and are Bama's only loss and Bama goes to the playoffs while we get left out because of 2 losses.

Selection Committee Protocol
quote:

How To Select the Four Best Teams to Compete for the College Football National Championship
(Adopted unanimously by the BCS Group – June 20, 2012)

When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered:
•Championships won
•Strength of schedule
•Head-to-head competition (if it occurred)
•Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)

7. Metrics. There will not be one single metric to assist the committee. Rather, the committee will consider a wide variety of data and information.

This! The committee will minimize the 2 losses if LSU wins all of it's remaining games under a different coach.

Wrong, and not very well thought out. What would it matter what type of offense we ran, as long as we win? And who's to say we would have automatically won in a spread offense as opposed to executing our current offense better?

I'm not in the group that thinks we're automatically in, but I believe we'd have a chance, depending on how convincing our performances are. The committee would not want egg on their faces letting a conference champion in with more than one loss that subsequently craps out considering that there would be a number of 1 loss teams that could have gone. I also think that having one less win because of UF hurts us as well.

Wrong. Bama'd be 11-1 and we'd be 10-2 including the SEC CG because of the USA game cancellation thanks to UF.

I say yes.

LSU gets a mulligan for the games they lost under Miles.

My point is that winning was not an option using the 1975 Bo Schembechler offense. Everyone knew what we were going to do and it showed by putting 8-9 in the box.

You don't automatically win but it sure increases your chances to not try running into a wall when everyone knows it is coming. See results since changing to O and Ensminger.

We are not in with two losses. Ohio state got the one loss and only dropped to 6th. This is so they can put them in if anyone above them loses. The committee loves them some Ohio stae. The committee does not love LSU.

The fact that Foley was allowed to skate out on playing that weekend is a black eye to the spirit of competition. Sankey should have sat him down and made him choose one of the ten options LSU presented.
