Do you not remember the 90's? Yall should have had SMU type sanctions.

A team that actually won their division.

...My dream scenario : Irish 21 - 'Bama 0 !!
Posted on 12/26/12 at 10:47 am to GeauxGus
My prediction:
Bama 31
Notre Dame 13
And that's with the Domers scoring a meaningless TD late in the 4th against Bama scrubs.
Bama dominates and the rest of the country and sports pundits outside of the SEC are thrown into a funk when presented ONCE AGAIN with the SEC's athletic superiority.

I understand why you feel this way. Hell, I wouldn't have liked it either but honestly who do you think deserved to play for the title more......a team that got beat in overtime to the #1 team in the country or a team that got beat by Iowa State?
It sucked for y'all to have to play a team you already beat. I get that but the two best teams played for the title which is the way it's supposed to be.

I completely agree with all of this. I hated that we had to face Bama again, but LSU and Alabama were, without a doubt, the best two teams in the country last year.

What did we do in the nineties that warranted SMU like sanctions?

they will find a way to claim 15 if this happens
Honestly,I'm surprised most of them don't try to claim LSU's 2003 title since Saban was the coach. That's how a lot of them view the world.

I honestly think Bama will win, just do not want them to. If ND wins, IDGF how it happens, as long as it does.

I want the Gumps to lose on #3 (lose on a controversial play.
I want an Irish runner to break free to the endzone on the last play of the game and have a blocker commit an egregious act of holding in front of the entire world and the call NOT be made, resulting in an Irish TD and win.
I will then never complain about the increasing no calls benefiting he Bama team.
That or a last second TD for Bama that is wrongly called NOT a TD and the Irish win as a result.

I'll tell you why I am disgruntled about playing Bama last year.
OSU had a field goal that was ruled no good that very easily could have been ruled good. This was on a Thursday or Friday night game on the road after having less practice time and being required to attend funeral services for their basketball coach.
Bama lost to LSU on their home field with two weeks to prepare. But more than anything else, it was the complete media driven agenda to get Bama in that BCS game.
The fact that we and OSU played games and OSU skullfricked their rival while we killed Arkansas and Uga and Bama sat idle didn't bother me as much as some. What irked me was that during the championship games they allowed Bama to campaign all day w Saban on a day that should have had minimal attention given to Bama.
I guarantee you that if espn had spun the story favoring OSU and brought up the above points the voters would have felt differently. Gundy was right in that if it was OU and not OSU they would have been playing LSU.
This is why it was unfair. We played possibly the most difficult schedule of all time and certainly in the BCS era and our reward was to play the best team we had already beaten rather than another team who was worthy to see if they could knock us off.
Bama had all the motivation and ability to adjust their gameplan. I'm not doubting their greatness last year, but I still say we were the better team and if roles were reversed we win the BCS last yr.
Good luck vs ND-you'll need it bc you'll actually have penalties called against you for once. Do you know what happens when penalties are called against you? You lose games. See A&M.

21-0 happened. It's over. The sooner you let it go the sooner you can heal.

3 but i want ti to be clear that they should have won, like Stanford vs Notre Dame. Clear video evidence that like a last second TD was good, but didn't counts even after review. Just the biggest botched call ever. Clear Notre Dame homerism on the part of the ref.
They shall taste their own medicine, and it shall be bitter.
