How would you feel if Les went to OM and ran an uptempo, wide open Offense?

That was throwing the ball for 200+ yards a game and racking up yards and points? Spread concepts, no iform, etc etc.

I would absolutely laugh my arse off.

That would mean he has been revealed as negligent, not hardheaded..

I feel if Les does accept another coaching position, and that is a BIG IF, that is exactly what he will do or try. At this point, what has he go to loose.

Part of me would be pissed, but the other part would shake my head.

That you can change even a stubborn bastard by firing him.

I'd still feel bad he took a job where he'll be going 6-6 at best under heavy sanctions.

I would then concede that alien abductions do occur, demon possessions are real and bigfoot and the loch ness monster do exist.

I could not care less. Miles is not the LSU football coach anymore. Why don't we support Coach O and quit worrying about Miles' next coaching job?

He had his chance to do that at LSU with more talent than he will ever get to at Ole Miss
He didn't want to do that at LSU and it cost him his job

Be ready for the option to the short side of the field, two runs on first and second down, then the "forward pass'' on third down. I could be a DC and shut him down. Oh, and kick the ball short or out of bounds, ha ha ha.

I may be mistaken, but i dont think he was always ground and pound at oklahoma state. I think he got to LSU had better talent than everybody else and got ultra conservative. If he went somewhere with lesser talent, he'd open things up because he'd be getting beat so bad he'd have to.

Here's a thought: Beating Bama in 2011 regular season is the worst thing that could have happened to LSU. It made Saban reinvent his offense into a more modern style, and it made Miles never want to change his. Bama and LSU went in opposite directions after and because of that game.

What would piss the rant off more, Les taking the Ole Miss job and beating LSU with the toss dive or beating LSU by running a spread offense?

Agreed. He inherited a program N$ built at LSU. If he gets the OM job, he's inheriting a program Hugh Freeze destroyed.

We would very quickly find out exactly how good of a coach Miles is or isn't. That being said, there's no better "save face" hire that OM could make than Les Miles. And hey, Cam Cameron will be ecstatic to be off the unemployment line.

I guess you can't really judge in 1 year since he may just say he doesn't have the personnel to ground and pound, but if it continued in year 3 I think it's a huge indictment on the management of LSU. If he's actually capable of doing this, then the higher ups didn't do a good enough job of "emphasizing" the importance of offensive changes to Les while he was still here.
