You didn't answer my question about whether or not this team was poorly coached. The unequivocal answer to that question is yes. Nobody hates miles but he damn sure makes it hard to support him when he trots out the product that he did this season.

you state this as fact. there will be no anti miles backlash until we lose a game. just like this year.

yes, the same old "miles lynching crowd" will keep the board aware they are still around no matter how bad we beat an opponent.

there is no question that miles shite has worn thin by just about every fan to one degree or another and there will be a relevant backlash if the team doesn't play much better. by relevant I mean those that support the university financially by donations and (or) buying season tickets.

internet loudmouths don't count much. i'm sure they would disagree but it's a fact.

Still didn't answer my question. Your refusal to be honest in this situation speaks volumes. It would require you to be critical of your idol and that ain't happening. Less Miles deserves every bit of the criticism directed towards him.

Does not one remember how bad our offense was as the season went on that year? Honey badger and the best D of all time won the majority of those games. We won't have a very good D next year

1) Those of us who were at the game--and those they represent who weren't--who honestly thought we were being good sports and giving Les a good sendoff in gratitude for the past--and then watched the media twist that into some mandate for Les to stay.

There were those of us who pointed that out in threads days before the game that the media and administration would misunderstand what the cheers were about.

And why would we expect the media to get it right anyway? When the fans boo, the media seems to think those booing are doing so aimed at that particular player, when it is/was directed to the coach.

Regardless of anything else, the pumpers, the politicians, and the administration thummed their nose (no pun intended) at TAF and the average Joe t-shirt buying fan. But those same groups who lobbied to keep him will be crying and begging for money once this melt boils dry and evaporates.

Have either of you thought for a moment that the majority of people in the stands were cheering for Miles and wanted him to stay?

I get a kick out of how your view of the event is not fact.

Let the season play out with sloppy rent-a-wins and more futility once we hit the meat of the schedule in November and we receive our now-expected arse-kickings from Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss--exacerbated by Miles refusing to change anything--

Actually I like our chances against Ole Miss on October 22nd. They will be coming off of a road game against Arkansas. We will be coming off a Home Game against Southern Miss. I have a feeling they might be a bit banged up after playing Arkansas.

You kidding me, right. Most of the continually negative crowd wouldn't know a "good sport" if they fell over one. And if it makes you feel better to the think the LSU football staff has no substantial support, knock yourself out. Talk bout having your head buried in the sand.

hiring Jimbo Fisher

Jimbo why do people continue to buy into this fantasy?

when it's more of the same from Les and his staff of cronies

You might want to seek professional help for that bitterness eating at you. The decision, whether you like it has been made, time for the rational ones or real "good sports" among us to move on.

But those needing to piss in the wind over a decision made and not changing for at least a yr., knock yourself out. It is the Rant where "good sports" come to bitch bout anything and everything.

And number 8) Let Frank and O leave this offseason while BDP, Cam, and Steele stay.

That will stir the gumbo pot further and bring it closer to full boil.

I have a question for you.

In the waning moments of the Ole Miss Beefense finally admitted that he'd be OK with Miles being replaced by Jimbo.
So, we know that he is accepting of change under the right circumstances.

What he's probably up to NOW is to simply try to keep the board as upbeat as possible, because this, in his opinion, helps LSU for the bowl game and for recruiting. That is a reasonable view.

If Beefense was ready for change at the moment when the Ole Miss game ended, a future repeat of those three weeks would probably cause him to again be ready for change. However, he probably doesn't see any useful purpose in publicly demanding change NOW. That's how I see it.

Now for my own personal opinion: FIRE MILES NOW. . . j/k.

Champagne, IMO, you're a good poster who contributes a lot to this board.

My question for you now is:

Why are you giving credence and weight to what a little shite like Beefense--who is nothing but a troll and a spammer--has to say?

Ben,

It's not like Les Miles hasn't won championships. I would not argue with you if the only thing we had to go on was 2014 and 2015. But you act as though it is unrealistic for a coach who has won 3 SEC West titles to win the West next year with a really solid team. You act like it is crazy talk to think that a coach who has won the SEC twice might be able to win the SEC with Fournette, Harris, Dupre, Adams, Godchaux, Toliver, Key, etc.

This isn't Ole Miss or Miss State. This is LSU. We have a really good squad coming back in 2016. We have a really strong recruiting class coming in in February. We have coaches who, while they can be fairly criticized for some issues in 2015, have achieved the highest pinnacles of their profession. And we have a decision made to retain them at least to see what they can achieve next year.

So you have a choice. You can run them down and help perpetuate a negative aura around the program that no one can do anything to quell until next fall. Or, you can be a grown up, accept the decision (or at least accept that nothing you say or do in the next 8+ months will change a damn thing) and support the team and its goals of recruiting top talent between now and national signing day and cheer like hell for them in the fall.

It's a free country. No one can stop you guys from being miserable fans who run down everything about the school, the players and the coaches. Just please promise that if you are proven wrong next year that you not hop on the bandwagon and not celebrate the success since you are doing everything that a powerless fan can possibly do to prevent it from happening. There is no room for you on the bus.

I'm so confused. Why would any true/real fan want Les to stay?
