Unless we go undefeated and win the natty, the backlash will be uglier than baton rouge traffic.

Next season? Something tells me that Miles better feel like he's coaching for his job on December 29th against Texas Tech. This game is very important for Les Miles and the immediate future of the LSU program.

You know as well as I do the same people who are saying its a meaningless bowl will be out dancing and celebrating a loss and acted like it means something but if lsu wins it will go back to being "meaningless". You know it.

Next year we'll have a pumpkin patch that's REAL sincere! And Les Miles will fly through that pumpkin patch with a hat full of toys! He's gonna develop a QB with a big pocket and Fournette's gonna run right up the middle to victory, Charlie Brown. You'll see!

When he's 4-4 at the open date I image things will be very ugly.
If he is 4-4 at the open date, Les won't be here to coach the 9th game.

There are a ton of posters that make such comments, but I have always been of the belief that bowl games spring board you into the offseason. Les Miles, and the LSU program needs some positive vibes going into this offseason. We need a strong bowl performance.

If next season is viewed as a failure or simply more of the trend of the last several years, the backlash will be harshest on the President and AD if they don't fire him. The buyout is lower and I think everyone would walk away thinking Miles was treated fairly (as opposed to this season), but his time here is done.

It will depend on a couple of things.

1. Winning bowl game. If not it will be a long off season for CLM and a wet rag on the recruiting class.

2. Some signs of offense growth in bowl game and spring game. If not, the fence sitters will start falling off.

3. Early loss in season will be a fire starter for CLM.

4. LF Heisman hype. If he don't make strong progress early then Miles could field a lot of criticism for that.

In fact the only thing that cools the waters is winning SEC West.

seems like there's a whole lot of wishful thinking in the OP.

i've never seen this board wanting LSU to fail so bad

the question is...if the team collapses again next year and it looks like Miles will be gone

does he get the same send off as he did this year? or will people be hesitant?

will he get carried off the field again?

How the hell could anybody be fired up about Harris coming back ? Same coaches, same game plans, same shitty results. Every year we sport a top 10, or even top 5 recruiting class, and every year same GOL shite. It sure makes for some GREAT betting situations though. It's not poor GOl's fault, he's just about 10 feet in over his head. Looking forward to 2026 when the buyout is gone. Thanks AD.

Miles might be too stubborn to actually change, but I hope he realizes that his future more than likely depends on next year, starting with this season's bowl game. I'm not a Miles worshiper by any means, but, if he can change and put it together, I think we can get behind him. If not, bye.

1) Those of us who were at the game--and those they represent who weren't--who honestly thought we were being good sports and giving Les a good sendoff in gratitude for the past--and then watched the media twist that into some mandate for Les to stay.

The way the media reacted to the crowd at the A&M game, and the way that the LSU administration may have been affected by it, opens up a can of worms. Some may now feel the need to voice their displeasure by booing, bringing signs, etc. I can understand the sentiment. If the administration wants to get a true pulse of the fan base, some may be more willing to give it.

I'm delusional? To think that having the best running back in a generation, a talented QB with experience and an elite WR might turn this offense around?

No, I'm not delusional. I am a fan. I am a fan of a damn strong football team that, although no one wants to hear it, was young and inexperienced. That changes in 2016. If we can't win with this team next year, then I will join you negative nancies and call for change. But please, please do NOT get on the bandwagon when this team is in the college football playoff.

Retards like timlan don't care about lsu winning at this point. They just don't want their bitch fits to be wrong if lsu ends up winning big so they want to see change made. It's obvious.

So out of all your ridiculous hyperbolic scenarios, you don't see this team led by experienced juniors with even a chance at a great season next year?
If you don't, then you shouldn't be taken serious. Predicting 100% certainty of doom and gloom makes you sound like an imbecile but knowing the source, it isn't surprising.

I have a question for you.

When the frick are you going to get banned from here for good?

All of us who have a strong opinion on something have gotten the little private message to "Take A Break."

And before that, we'd receive a pm from admin saying "Improve the quality of your posts."

Have you ever started a thread on LSU football or its history--hell, have you ever started a thread on anything substantive at ALL?

No, just 20,000 shitty little one-liners whining like a toddler at LSU fans you don't like.

You shouldn't be banned because of your opinions--you have a right to them.

Maximus? Hendersonshands? Several others? Yes, they're assholes much of the time, but they're also quality posters with substance who add to this board.

You, on the other hand, or nothing but a troll and a spammer.

I hope the mods give your 20,000 shitty one-liner posts a good going over and realize you contribute absolutely nothing to this board.

Oh. And the same goes for your little friend Choctaw.

If Coach O leaves we will lose more recruits and the offseason is going to be long and negative. Next season?

I'm of the opinion that I don't think Les Miles gets fired next year. But, if and when it ever does happen, there will be no more chance for a fond sendoff. The AD that pulls the trigger next time will not give the politicians in Miles corner a chance to fight for him. I'm thinking a Monday firing before the season is complete. If there is a firing, there will not be another chance for a sendoff, next time it will be ugly.

Now if Miles eventually sets forth a plan to retire, it would probably end amicably.
