You're exaggerating on the timing, but I definitely asked out loud how in the hell they called holding so fast. I thought it was going to be a free play for the defense lined up in the neutral zone.

I agree and was wondering how a holding call was called so quickly when it happened myself but it wasn't before the play started.

FWIW I noticed this when it happened too. I turned to my uncle and said "How did they call holding that fast?"

But the worst to me of the night was the blatent block in the back on the punt return TD, FL guy knocks the LSU defender on the ground and there was no call.

I'm looking for the replay to make a gif of that one now.

here is the block in the back on the punt return TD.

you tell me.

(this is the best I can find right now but it's clear enough)

Of all the calls that are legit to complain about from Saturday, and they are legion, this really isn't one of them as far as I can see.

Yeah but tick tack, I can't be for sure BS like that is flagged, but not obvious things? That's what I'm getting at. Block in the back on the return, hitting Harris our of bounds late (i mean do you remember that shite was called against Debo earlier this year and it was about the same or less intentional looking than that), no call pass interference that stopped Dupre from getting a TD, and zero flags for the several times UF defenders were trying to bring Fournette down waaay after the whistle blew. I mean they picked up flags against UF. It was such BS.

I really wish the NCAA would get away from conference officials. Just have one association that covers the entire NCAA.

Huge...and I mean HUUUUUUUUGE proponent of this idea.
Me too!

Would cost the Dixie Mafia millions though.

Could have been worse. Could have been Ritter but they are saving him for the Alabama game.

Not to mention the U that throws the flag has to see through many bodies to call that one. That was the R's call.

Umpire has center and both guards at the snap.
R has QB and far side tackle.

That was the Umpires call.

The way the play develops in front of him, he would have to see through bodies to make that call. That was the U and R BEHIND the offensive LOS call to make there

again, that is not R's call. Umpire the entire way.

You really need to read a mechanics manual.

For this formation the manual is as follows:
Referee: Quarterback, backs and help on tackles.

Umpire: Center and both guards.

Head Linesman: The motion man until he crosses the opposite tackle. When that happens, key on
running back.

Side judge: Widest eligible receiver in the formation on your side of the field. In this case, the split end.

Line judge: Normally the third eligible receiver from the sideline to your side of the formation. With only
two eligibles on your side, your key is the inside receiver. In this case, that's the motion man if he gets
outside the tackle.

Field judge: Widest eligible receiver in the formation on your side of the field. In this case, the split end.

Back judge: The second eligible receiver on the strong side. In this case, that's the flanker.

well when he reaches for the flag is what you need to watch--not when you see yellow...thats when hes already seen it and has decided...

Did Clapp hold? Dunno...but you can certainly see how the U could interpret the fact that the DL hit the ground like that with Clapp there as a hold. It's not like Clapp turned him upright and pancaked him...

Anyone have a video or link, would love to see it

It's too late. The poster would be convinced the video has been doctored by the SEC front office. However, if we wait 3 weeks, I'm sure we'll have some calls favorable towards bama that we can discuss.
