Aranda has shown in the past that he will develop a scheme around the players available, he's not married to a specific scheme.

With the guys on our roster, I'm not so sure a change to a 3-4 base is necessarily a foregone conclusion.

Gotta trust Aranda to make the right call.

We'll probably try both in Spring ball and pick whichever works best.

LSU will be multiple. The game really doesn't let you have a true 3-4 or 4-3 anymore, and LSU will always play a lot of nickel.

Nobody runs the same front all the time, look at Bama they are a 3-4 team but played more 4 down lineman than I ever seen them run this year. I look for Aranda to get the best group on the field.

We'd dominate with that formation.

This years class seems to fit a 3-4 pretty well.
Divinity and Fowler at ILB. Thornton and Anthony at OLB. Logan would fit well as a 3-4 DE, if we can bring him in, along with Roddy. Rashard and Ed as the big interior DT. Looks good to me.

Not really. We've been recruiting 4-3 players and that will be our base formation

4-3 under morphing to a 5-2 look at times.

Lots of 3-4 concepts in a 4-3 under.

Will look much like we have this year (and under Chavis) but assignments are different at the snap of ball.

You can address your concerns directly on Wednesday evenings at TJ Ribs during the Les Miles show. If you can't make it in person, they even let you call in too.

We eventually will switch to the 3-4.

I mean that's the scheme that he had so much success with at Wisconsin. Put up some crazy #s over the last few years with that scheme and those rankings and stats and what not are a big reason why he was such a hot commodity and seen as a home run hire when we hired him.

He does have experience with multiple schemes though, so we will probably have a transition phase before we switch to the 3-4. Probably will see him implement it at times depending on opponent and situation this coming season. Then when he thinks we are ready to move to it, we will move to it. He's a ridiculously smart coach. He knows what scheme will best fit our team right now.

But, the 3-4 he ran at Wisky was a 1 gap scheme. A 3-4 is typically a 2 gap scheme. So it's a hybrid of the normal 3-4 a lot of people are used to seeing. And a 1 gap scheme allows you to sacrifice some size up front and needs quickness and burst. Pretty much based on getting pressure, being disruptive, and attacking.

And IMO, we have the players that fit a 3-4 1 gap scheme right now for the most part. Just not sure where Bower fits in it. That's pretty much it. But I trust Aranda to put the players in positions that best fit them and run a scheme that does that as well.
