Assuming they take an L against the dawgs on Wednesday. Before or after Sunday (3/12/17) @ noon?

Upvote for before
Downvote for after or doesn't get fired

this is sort of a dumb question. Of course he's going to get to coach Wednesday no matter what.

As has been stated like 1000 times, I believe there's some date he has to surpass to reduce the buyout. April 1 maybe? Either way, whenever that is - that's when he'll be fired.

April 1st sounds about right. Money saved plus coaches we might want to interview would more than likely be coaching teams in one of the postseason tournaments, and possibly would want to wait for interviews after their teams season has ended to avoid distractions. There is one thing that is certain. JJ will not coach LSU next season .

You do realize that this is dependent on Alleva planning for, negotiating, and actually make a decision.

Buyouts are usually prorated from my understanding. I dont think we gain much monetarily waiting a week or two at this point in the season.

I see no reason to delay it longer than Thursday morning or early afternoon.

What you do is reassign him within the athletic department until the date comes.

That should happen by the weekend. If it doesn't, the howling from the fan base needs to be deafening.

It's already over a year late, so who knows.

No. I'm not even sure that's correct, but even if it is, you have to treat him with some class and allow him some dignity, not pettily penny-pinch over a couple dozen grand. Not only is it the right thing to do--to let him go completely--but you are showing potential new coaches how you treat your coaches. Who wants to go work for an admin that humiliates a coach--who's an alumn, no less--by hiding them in an admin role to save a few pennies. He's not Jabar Juluuke.

"Some date"

Really?? LSU basketball is being left to die on the vine cause we are waiting on a certain date to save a few $$$???

That would be pretty much par for JA.

if true, it will take a minimum of a decade to resurrect this program from the ashes.

And as has been stated every time, that is incorrect. Partial years are prorated and his contract runs through June so April isn't close anyway.

This is the correct answer. He gets paid $125k per month as head coach and $33.34k per month if his contract is terminated. Contract ends on June 30, 2019.

They are already interviewing coaches, I'm pretty sure they told him he can finish the season.
