I don't see why he hasn't already moved to play LB..just my opinion tho.

The simplest explanation is that he can't learn the playbook and/or his assignments, which totally nullifies any physical attributes he may possess.

There it is. One of the ways we will be able to judge Canada's effectiveness as a coach will be his ability to get this young man (and a few others) onto the field. Stay tuned.

He might be lacking in the "hard work" department. A ton of great high school players/athletes can't step up to the next level and it usually relates to lack of drive...

Ducre is a freak. Must not be a great football player if he hasn't appeared yet.

I still have hope though. His size/speed combo is extremely rare (Devin White -ish but lighter).

D.J. Chark, Deion Jones and Duke Riley come to mind. All seldom used until Junior or Senior year now in or headed to the pros.

For a guy his size he can fly. He's a special player. I'm just hoping he can find a way to play in Canada's offense.
as a prior poster pointed out, we would've seen him on ST by now if he was a physical freak. You saw it for years under Miles

Honestly, I forgot he was even on the team. I remember he had a lot of hype coming out of high school, but he has never really had any meaningful playing time. However, I know Canada likes to utilize the fullback, so I was curious as to what role y'all think he will play this year if at all.

Here we go again. This board has an obvious concentration of baws living in St. Tammany. Just because you saw him dominate live in HS does not necessarily translate to next level success. A heck of a lot of players at LSU dominated just like he did in HS.

Some guys take a while to develop mentally.

It isn't until that junior or senior year that something "clicks" where the game slows down or they finally learn to react and not over think the position.

He is a bit redundant w D Williams, who is better. So probably not much unless he improves a lot.

This is wrong. Williams is also around 230, but his speed is what you typically would expect from a guy around that height/weight. Ducre was 6'0 230 running a 10.68 in track. if you watched his highlight tape he looked similar to how Nick Chubb looked in high school and his first year and a half at UGA.

I really think Miles wasted this guy's talent. It's like when they put Beckwith on the DL his first year, wasting a whole year of LB training and experience. Putting a guy literally the same height and weight and almost similar speed as Fournette at FB (straight out of HS) just made no got damn sense. He's not a FB, he's a RB. Hell Devin White was 5'11 245 in high school at RB and plenty LSU fans wanted him to play RB for us. Thankfully the coaches knew like some of us that he would be way better suited at LB.

If not this year, I think he really shows what he can do as a runner next year.

It's like some of y'all forget he was behind Fournette and Guice the past two years. Nest year it will be him and Brossette at RB. Look for both to get an occasional series this year.

He could make an impact on occasional play action pass plays

Miles didn't coach the team for 2/3's of the games last year. You thought he should have been playing ahead of Fournette or Guice? Swapped out for Moore at FB?

As another poster pointed out, why the heck was Ducre not even playing special teams last year?

I've heard that despite his size he plays too soft.

A friend of mine coaches in the same HS division he played. He was shocked when LSU offered him a scholarship. He had seen him in scrimmages and games for several years and said he simply wasn't a football player. Had incredible measurables, but either had no instincts or just didn't care and wasn't physical at all despite having the ability to run over almost anyone he faced.

My wish is that he and Broussard red shirt this year and then we have two solid running backs for the next two years in the same mold of Alfred Blue and Hilliard. It would also give LSU time to find a couple of good backs for 2019 and 2020

Exactly. I'm surprised Ducre hasn't contributed yet either, as I thought he was a beast coming out of HS, but him not even playing ST tells me he's probably soft. With his speed and size, he would kill it on ST. So why doesn't he?

From his bio. A lot of people that watched him don't agree with your "coach" friend.
