A silly question demands a sarcastic answer..."Long as he wants to be or until he gets run off"!

You caught me...yeah, I'm not being real. I don't like Les Miles' coaching philosophy but I can't argue with his success. I think he is a pretty good recruiter but will never be able to sell quite like Saban. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think we will ever win another NC with Les at the helm.

Saban made a mistake, he should've left. Maltzan, sumlin and miles will give him hell the next several years.

He may not win another mc again.

Certainly not next year. 3 losses

His philosophy is sound and great, but he HAS to HAVE the best players.

Wait til maltzan and sumlin get their recruits.

I disagree with your post.

Are you familiar with a concept known as linear algebra? It's a mathematical concept, the equations of which, can be graphically displayed via a straight line. You may have heard it called "solving for x".

According to the official web site of LSU athletics, Les Miles has coached the football team in a grand total of 106 football contest. He's won 85 of those.

If you'd like to know "what percentage of those contests he's won" (we'll call it "x"), the way you'd figure that out is by doing the following:

1. You'd let x = the percentage of times he's won. That would be one side of the equation.

2. The other side of the equation is the "non-variables" - the numbers that we know (in this case, wins and losses). Again, he's won 85, and played a total of 106.

3. "x" then would equal 85 divided by 106. It's expressed mathematically like this.....85/106.

4. "x" then equals 80.19%.

That means 80.19% of the time that he's lead the LSU football team as head coach, he's won the contest.

This may explain it in a way that a guy like you could understand. 80.19% is about the same as 4 out of every 5 times.

See, the thing is, he's coached us over a hundred times. It's over a many year period. He's consistently kept us OUT of the toilet, which is all of our collective biggest fear.

I hope this makes you worry less, now that I've mathematically demonstrated the fact that CLM will not bring us to a similar fate that was suffered by Tennessee when they decided their longstanding successful coach was leading their team down the toilet.

10 years would take him to 70- there's no way. The stamina required to recruit and compete in the sec is too much at that age. I say 4-5 more seasons max. He retires, takes an admin role and enjoys his family.

.
Yeah, he'll probably fulfill his contract, which is u til 2017 I think.

I'd be happy if we got 2 NC by then.

You must not have understood - Les Miles is the best we've had. And there's something else you don't understand - he's got integrity and total loyalty to LSU. He's proven both more times than you know.

He's turned Michigan down twice, Arkansas once, and was considered for Texas. "Running the program down the toilet?"

Spurrier is 68. I think Miles can carry on until at least that age.

You surprised rummel?

People purposely sign up to bash miles. IRL there is a lot of people I know that have some distaste for him but they respect him and know he is good for the program.

People fail to take everything into account when evaluating a coach.

Case in point, we finished this year exactly how most thought we would. Yet, people bitch.

Baffling.

How do you ask this question when you don't even know what players are going to be back next year?

Not just age to be considered; overall health will affect stamina and focus. I have heard that Saban has coronary artery issues that are not talked about but that could affect both his coaching longevity and his life expectancy, especially with the lifestyle that coaches keep.

That is because Les has a good time. He seems actually happy. I think that is his charm on the recruiting train. He is just a happy go lucky guy.

Nicky, however, is wound a little too tightly. Driven to the nth degree.. I would not want his blood pressure!
