I didn't say he was bad at it. I feel like we can do better though.

Lotta people in this thread don't want to admit that he's failed at recruiting.

Look - I want Les gone too, but you gotta admit that he has put together some great classes. Yes QB recruiting has been a overall disaster and he let Brick and Chief get away with not recruiting DL for a few years, but overall recruiting is probably the biggest reason he was retained last year.

Dinardo was a great recruiter and he actually started locking down the top in state talent. Saban came in and took recruiting to another level by building a winner and getting building built to impress recruits. Saban also did something that many kids in la didn't think was possible when he won a national title. The kids being recruited now were 5&6 when we won in 2003 and 9&10 when we won in 2007...the in state kids know that they can win at LSU. In the 80s and 90s the best talent was going to Miami, FSU, Nebraska, etc...they don't anymore...that is LSU recruiting itself if you don't think that is important to recruits please tell me what is?

Thats all i was saying. Now that miles is probably gone posters are acting like his entire tenure at lsu is worthless and we won in spite of him.

Literally no one is saying that.

Do you really think Miles is the only person who can recruit for LSU?

Miles didn't make LSU.

Never said he did.

Miles' last 5 years have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure.
Stop acting like Miles was handed a top 5 program.
Dinardo had as many top 15 finishes as saban did at lsu.

No program has ever won a cfb title without having huge amounts of talent.

Do i need to link you to posts on this site saying we have nothing to show for Miles ' tenure?

No one said this. But youre acting like miles isnt an elite recruiter.
Do you know how rare it is to hire 3 straight cfb coaches that are wildly successful?

brgetthenet is always incredibly off-base. There's really no point going back and forth with him.

So miles recruits well so what? Lsu will recruit well anyway and will have a coach that will utilize our players abilities unlike miles. We lost to a wisconsin team that averages about 40th in the country in recruiting. Recruiting ain't all it's cracked up to be if you can't utilize the talent you're recruiting in the right way. Les miles is proof of that and other teams that beat us with way less talent prove that coaching makes one hell of a difference. Lsu will recruit well no matter who the head coach is.
