What are you implying?

School recruits itself. We don't need Les Miles.

I'm implying that unless LSU lands a home run guy like Herman, there's a decent chance we're losing 4-6 games a year for the next 2-3 seasons.

Lotta people in this thread don't want to admit that he's failed at recruiting. Sure, he's had some great classes. But the team is always left wanting. That's a recruiting failure.

lol jesus christ.

Never mind.

Good chance that happens this season with Miles anyway.

I'd rather cut bait.

Dude, we haven't sniffed the playoffs.

Not once. We backed into a natty and got trounced in the other one.

Think about that.

Recruiting will go down for a few years. Prepare for it. Just the way it goes

There's no point arguing with you.

It'll be similar. Louisiana is still a talent-rich state, and kids want to stay home so their families can come see them play. Les Miles was not the one keeping it together.

In truth, Miles is one of the best recruiters around. I've always felt like Miles was called in life to be a recruiting coordinator, but he somehow got caught up in the head coaching world. If he was our recruiting coordinator and we had somebody who was actually good at making game day decisions to be our HC, we'd be unstoppable.

Miles does not recruit much. His assistants who get paid handsomely bust their asses though, so then guys like you can give LES the credit for their work.

Frank Wilson busted his arse, Larry Porter busted his arse, Ed Orgeron busts his arse, Grimes busts his arse. Then Les makes a few visits and you're giving him all of the credit?

Doesn't matter who replaces him.

Kids knowing we have a someone willing to run a play other than a toss dive will load the program with talent.

Pretty cool to think about the future with a football coach.

Holy shite. The amount of posters on here that have no idea how cfb works is amazing.

Lsu does not recruit itself. If you think it does then you have no idea what youre talking about.

There are numerous programs with more history than lsu, that dont recruit themselves.

I think as long as we keep a guy with new Orleans ties ,and a couple of the good assistants who recruit well we should be fine.

Me too. Think of all the kids we've lost to bama because of Mile's ineptitude.

Who? We lost 2 recruits to bama.

Cam and collins.

I think he did a good job.

What I asked was how much better will a coach that actually can teach be at recruiting.

Some people here get it. The school and the program recruits. Not Miles.

Kids came here for the program. Miles is not the program. Not sure why some people here can't grasp such a simple concept.

I think it needs to happen, but there are MANY potential major pitfalls.

Exactly. First and foremost im not sure LSU will shell out big money to an up and comer.
Secondly i dont have faith in alleva to make a good hire.

Yea Miles is a great recruiter, unless we get Herman, Jimbo we'll drop in the recruiting rankings, but we'll win more games and actually have an enjoyable product to watch.
