Which games this year that LSU won would they have lost without Chavis? I say Wisconsin(2nd half) and ole miss for sure!

some weak fat is being trimmed from our program.

The only thing i don't like about it is he was allowed to taint yesterdays game. His arse should have been sent home

I think he lost a bunch of games in his time here not saying that he hasn't. Just curious what others thought

Well... he DID cost us Notre Dame and almost A&M if it weren't for the no CALL for sure.

Also add Clemson, Bama x2 and Ole Miss as well.

They can have him. Appreciate his time at LSU but will not miss 3rd and Chavis and prevent defense.

but Chavis turned this D around which gave us wins vs aTm and Ole Miss. We almost beat Bama as well. We may have lost or won a close one to Kentucky if our defense didn't turn the corner at that point. So I would say between 5 and 7 wins if our D didn't turn the corner.

don't forget Under Chavis we went from a defense who gave up 26 PPG to a Defense who gave up 10 PPG. With teams like WVU Oregon and the good SEC east teams on our schedule.

Many of you are trying to say Chavis sucked, meaning this is a good thing for LSU.

Chavis is a proven DC at two colleges

our likely replacements.

LB coach at Bama.
Bee Bee who has yet to be a DC. He would be a boost to recruiting but his scheme would be no-where near Chavis.

Also Defnese didn't show up to play for the Clemson game and Notre Dame game. Teams lack motivation when a coach decides to leave soon after the bowl game. Remember our loss to Iowa the same year Saban Dashed off to the NFL?

Even great Defenses in college and the NFL have off games. You can point out many games, butt the success of a D comes down to stats and consistency. LSU #1 D in the SEC this year. We had a bad game to end the year. Chavis fault yes I would say so, but his defense has been very good while he has been at the helm. With a few exceptions.

Defense kept us in the game. Without Chavis it probably would have been a blow out.

Notre Dame

ok defense had no motivation to play for a coach who they just found out is leaving them. This doesn't count in our judgment of Chavis.

well...it depends on who our coordinator is. With someone like Venables we might have beaten, Bama and ND without the preventish 3rd and chavis
