Oh I agree I think the failures of both QBs over past three years hangs largely on the heads of the coaches, for one not adequately preparing them before throwing them to the wolves, two not calling proper plays that play to each's strengths while helping offset their weaknesses, three predictable play calling and repeatedly calling plays that didn't work the first 20 times, and four not developing the players without first destroying any confidence the player or the fans have in their abilities.

Yes really. Why? Because noone wants to put up all the stats.

The JL supporters NEVER want to put up his stats as a starter. Gee, I wonder why.

While on the flip side the JJ supporters are in denial as if there is nothing wrong.

Ive seen both of these guys long enough to know that If my life depended on it Id roll the dice with JJ.

Im STILL pissed about that one play where JL was like 3 or 4 yards from the first down and could have WALKED to it but chose to throw an ill-advised pass in double coverage that was almost picked off. I was HOT! True enough it shouldnt affect my feelings and thinking of LEE today but boy does that stick out in my mind when I see him play.

Can you think of any qb that we have or will see this year that you would not take over JJ.

JJ is not a good qb. I thought he would be, and was hoping he would be. But I do not think I am the only one that cringes when Les puts him on the field.

If JL hasn't lost it yet, he isn't going to lose it.

Novabill,

I have the same thought but I dont cringe I just hopes the guy gets it together. Lee scares me. If you notice when they call plays for Lee its to the sideline when he throws. Im starting to wonder if he can pass down the middle. Same goes for JJ.

But the larger point to all this is that its been 3 years and we have yet to see solid and consistent qb play out of 2 guys who have been here for 3 spring sessions and 2 full seasons. Where is the coaching?

It is yet to be hired here at LSU.

Les may be a great guy, I understand the players love him. However, he is not a good coach. Sure he is undefeated this year, but I think most any coach could have accomplished this with this team and in fact a good coach would have dominated some games and have us ranked even higher than we are.

I have never been a big LM fan and he has given me no reason to change my position.

learnthehardway,

I cant say JL is better because I havent seen him as a starter as of yet. Does he deserve a shot at being starter? As a JJ supporter Id say yes. Why not? The offense hasnt been pretty but then again when was the last time it did?

All Im saying is this for me to judge Lee FAIRLY agaisnt JJ now I would have to see him start and play the majority of a game. However Les, in his absolute genius, will never let that happen.

So in saying all that Im not going to drink the JL kool-aid as of now. I still remember what it tasted like last time.

All of the above would sugggest inconsistancy, but it is cleared up by

In other words, "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up."?

i agree 100%. I am not here trying to bash JJ , i dont know what happened but i feel bad for the kid at this point. it just looks like JL has matured and gives us the best chance going forward , especially against an upcoming auburn team whose weakness appears to be their secondary.

I am afraid that at some point JL's patience will run out

If it didn't happen after his treatment by us LSU fans during 08 and 09, it's sure not gonna happen when he is playing as much as he is now, throwing TDs, and helping LSU to becoming 7-0 and ranked in the Top 6.
