SMU played lights out. LSU never stopped trying. You could tell they were exhausted but they played hard and tried. So, no I wasn't appalled at all.
They did- the SMU guard really caught on fire and he was a game changer. What happened to the LSU offense in the second half?

The only thing I ask for is a freaking offensive scheme. This team also plays the worst zone defense in the history of basketball. To those of you that think we have a good product of basketball at LSU, you don't know shite about basketball.

you would think an AD from a basketball conference would be able to find a coach
Well, to be fair, I think Joe Alleva made his hire with Trent Johnson, but this hire was made by the LSU basketball alumni.

This wasn't what your thread was about. Let's hear more about how dumb Alleva is for rejecting Tony Bennett.

Shut up, jackass. You weren't thrilled with what you saw in the first half? We played exceptionally well in the first half.
I think the OP is an idiot, but I don't know if we played great in the first half...we just shot great.
I was worried about the 2nd half because I knew if the shots stopped falling, we'd be in big trouble.

Tony Bennett came up in our family brunch this past sunday. My aunt knows his wife and he did in fact interview/express interest, but to say he "begged" for the job is hyperbolic.
You just hate Alleva, so it's much easier for you to say he was on his hands and knees begging for the gig.

These threads...........wait for it........suck

Maybe begging is the wrong choice of words - he wanted the job.

Just go away, dumbass. We know what your narrative is now. You've already shown your arse enough.

What are your sources? My link shows he turned LSU down.

Exactly. He was a hot commodity at the time and knew he could land a better job than LSU.

I cant control what people post and I never accused Alleva of being dumb. My point of the thread is we have an AD from a basketball first conference who has had trouble getting this program back on its feet.

really? that would've been nice

"Tony Bennett who was led Virginia to a number one seed and was ACC coach of the year begged Joe Alleva for the job after the Brady exit. Alleva wantedt to take LSU in a direction and named Trent Johnson the head coach.
Another feather for Allev'as hat."
What exactly are you saying about Alleva then? You're so dumb you can't even analyze the shite that comes out of your own head.

You are a special kind of dumb.

This is such bullshite. Bennett went 15-16 and 16-15 with no postseason in his 1st two years at UVA.

Well, LSU may not have won a lot of games with Tony Bennett still, but he could at least lift their spirits by song! Every time-out, he could have the whole crowd singing along to "I Left My Heart in San Francisco"!! No doubt he'd be the envy of college basketball!!

Faced with a post proven wrong on the first page? Shift the argument.

So Alleva falls into a program with a LEGEND (Coach K) and that automatically bestows on him the magical gift of hiring legendary coaches in his future jobs???
