How was I proven wrong? Of course the article says he turned the job down. This is common cover for any coach who does not get a job he interviews for. They either remove their name for consideration or turn it down. He traveled to Baton Rouge to interview for a job he applied for, that's a fact.

lsu2006, you have quickly become the new Elleshoe when it comes to this board. You post in every basketball thread, but you rarely post anything worth reading. You should stop posting.

You people do need to realize that Tony Bennett had a losing record in his first couple years at Virginia and it wasn't until his 5th year that Virginia was really good. Just something to keep in mind when you freak out over the bball teams record over the past two seasons.

Ha. I actually post tons of thoughtful stuff in BBall threads and have since the offseason and beyond. I just get distracted by the blind idiocy sometimes. But whatever, I don't seek your approval.

Sorry for not entertaining the idea of this brilliant thread.

I'll have to look for a link and granted this is a hypothetical scene - that said - you would think an AD from a basketball conference would be able to find a coach who can teach fundamentally sound basketball to this team. LSU does not have that at this time and I don't care what recruit he has coming in next year.

I do agree somewhat on this post. Couldn't coach K had made some connections for Alleva ?

It took him 3 years to get Virginia into post season play...

Hell, they were in the nit last season.

It is a fact that Bennett declined LSU before he was even offered. He expressed an interest primarily because of his wife.
