Do you guys remember how good and explosive Mcfadden was in college. Dude was the one of the best to ever come out of the SEC. We know hoe good Peterson was(is).

Fournette isn't as elusive as Mcfadden and I don't think he has quite as much breakaway speed just yet. However, Fournette handles contact and has much better vision than Mcfadden had.

ETA: LF7 doesn't need to be elusive when he can just run straight through defenders

Both incredible players, but prepare to be amazed. Buga is about to make history.

Anyone who does is fricking stupid.

On December 1st, lets see what people are saying. So far, he's looked downright unstoppable, but the meat of the schedule has yet to come. If he can get 100+, 5+ YPC, and a couple TDs against Bama's front 7 (which is basically an NFL front 7) then I will put him up there with AD IMO.

He is almost up there with McFadden though. If LF7 was taking Wildcat snaps with Peyton Hillis and Felix Jones on his sides, he'd be doing the same shite.

Fournette runs with waaaaaay more power than McFadden. McFadden was long & lean with blazing speed. A RB that could house a run at anytime with just a small crease. He was similar to Eric Dickerson.

The AP comparison is legit. Power run with a wreck less force but they also can accelerate & cut really fast in the open field.

For sure better than Mcfadden. At least as good as Peterson in college. Don't forget that Peterson played with a solid passing game and against terrible defenses.

I just watched some old film of Mcfadden and brought back some memories of just how good and fast he was.

I agree. I won't miss an offensive play this year. Buga can score at will it seems

This is such a bullshite myth. The only reason their front 7 is so touted is because of their potential because it sure a shite isn't about their production.

Not the same type of runner at all, so it's hard to just simply compare them.

McFadden, I feel, didn't have the same level of players around him that Fournette does. Take that for what its worth. I'm not saying that it makes McFadden better, as time will really tell.

Yes - he was a great college back, but this was amplified by the gimmicky (but effective) offense that Arkansas was running. I don't want to take anything away from him - the highest compliment I can pay a player is, "I'm glad we don't have to play him again."

Peterson

Initial take is this is Fournette's league - an almost unstoppable force - where he gets silly yardage even when the entire opposing gameplan is to stop him.

He just has to keep this up another 20 to 22 games or so and it is NFL million$ and LSU legend status. He's already looking like a potential GOAT LSU player. The last player that truly looked like this to me, this young, and was able to sustain it for a career is Kevin Faulk. Mathieu was a different kind of player - just so unique. We've had physically dominant players at other positions (Glenn Dorsey, Jamarcus Russell, Patrick Peterson) - but there is something else going on with LF7 - he has a certain je ne sais quoi that no LSU player has had since Kevin Faulk - then going back further, to Tommy Casanova and Billy Cannon.

That's good company if your goal is to be a legend.

No they wouldn't. Of all the great LSU players over he years, especially the past 12, how many LSU players have hey drafted? One? Devery?

As mentioned on the radio last week, they wouldn't even pick up Collins this year as a free agent. Passed on the opportunity to get a first round pick essentially for free and passed. Not to mention all be great defensive guys more recently.

Don't get me wrong, it was all good by bedtime.

But walking out of the stadium that day was like a terrible hangover. McFadden was like Techmo Bo Jackson that day.

Like the Peterson comparison. Style of running and skill sets very similar.

His power and speed combination displayed at the Auburn game though brought back vivid memories of the greatest Auburn back in history...Bo Jackson.

Those of us old enough to remember Hershel Walker would say that Fournette is closer to him than McFadden. I will even say he is a bigger and faster version of Emmitt Smith.
