Easily the best open field tackler on the team.

not "easily", Tre White was probably the best last season, but CB's don't quite get the opportunities that safeties do.

White is good, but most of his open field tackles are against wide receivers. Adams is making open field tackles against running backs that have 20 pounds on him.

Let's pump the breaks before we put him ahead of top 10 picks that were all americans. Laron Landry as freshman was a damn beast. He led the best lsu defense, ever, in tackles

Because he was an elite blitzer and hitter.

Laron was overrated though. He was super fast and hit really hard, but he was average in coverage and hated wrapping up, instead going for monster hits all the time.

He was great in that system though with Saban.

Not in college. He is tied for 3rd alltime in interceptions.
He also was a wonderful tackler in college. He is 7th alltime in tackles. HE IS 2ND IN ALLTIME PASSES DEFENDED
He made all sec 2004,2005 2006.
2003 freshman all american.
2005 and 2006 All american.
We should be so lucky that Adams will do half of that while in purple and gold.

Dude is an absolute monster in every aspect of the game.. I thought coverage may have been the knock on him because,he had yet to crack the starting lineup. After watching the Kentucky game.I finally realized maybe our coaches should give this kid a serious look.. I'm telling you guys rewatch the Kentucky game kid was all over the field I wad most impressed with his ability to cover in the slot. Check out the play where he totally manhandled the speedy slot reciever.jam wasn't the word he creamed him into the ground one hand while flipping his hips smoothly never leaving his back pedal..most cover guys panic early and turn their backs when they are lined up across from a guy who can lift the top of a defense..I would definitely rate his skill set with some of the best that ever played at this level..reminds me alot of Stephan Gilmore who was actually a highly touted safety prospect that exhibited excellent cover skills and was moved to corner because of his fluid movement's and natural aggression..what do you guys think watch the Kentucky tape

Overrated by the pros for his position.

False. He was always around the ball, was fast, hit hard, and blitzed a lot. He also didn't wrap up much at all. That didn't hurt him as much in college, but he certainly wasn't a "wonderful" tackler.

While these are awesome stats, he started for 4 years for us. That's pretty rare and helps career stats a lot.

I think Adams is better, but I agree Laron was great in college and we were lucky to have him.

Laron was great tackler in college. You don't lead a LSU team in tackles 3 different years and not be a great tackler.
People let Laron's NFL career skew his college career.
here is just one draft report calling him the best defensive player in the draft. you can't be one of the best defensive players ,as a safety, without being able to tackle.

Coming from college there weren't any holes in Laron Landry ' s game. He was a 215 lbs safety that ran a 4.35 and could cover. Read his nfl scouting reports. It wasn't until Laron got into the league that people realized he had gotten by on athleticism and he wasn't very coachable (going for a big hit and being out of position to try and make a big play)

I would say he is a step above Revis in his prime, but has the tackling ability and nose for the ball as Troy P. in his prime, I may be underestimating him though, I would say he's definitely an NFL hall of famer at this point.

Not in college. In college his coverage skills and his tackling was what made him(at the time)the highest defensive draft pick in lsu history.
Laron Landry was the best safety in lsu history. He led the team in tackles 3 times ( 1 of 2 players ever to achieve that Shawn burks).
He was freshman all american in 2003. He was all american 2005& 2006. He made an all sec team every single year he played ( he was 2nd team all sec his true freshman year).
He is without a doubt the most decorated and talented safety in lsu history.
People let his nfl career skew their memory of his lsu career.

Tons of people on here thought he was an average tackler. Dude just hits hard as hell and doesn't wrap up. I specifically remember discussing this during his time here a lot.

He also never had the hips to cover the top WRs very well.

I'm not saying he sucked, because he was awesome, but he had flaws in his game that Adams does not have.

Adams won't run a pro day 4.4 though I don't think.
