How does LSU neutralize Jonathan Allen?
Pocic/Boutte double team?

Try to run at him a few times to wear him out on passing plays?

I'm worried about Clapp's ability in this game. How do you think we match up?

One O-lineman quick enough to keep him in place while a RB hits him hard then runs for a safety outlet. Either that or same scenario but a pulling O-lineman or big TE hits him hard to the ground. All upper body hits by the TE (so there is no chop block flag) while sliding legs behind his for leverage. Enough of either of this will make him back off and wait for a secondary blocker thus slowing him down in mind or body.

Screens draws run the ball away from him move the pocket away from him make him run a lot and chase plays. You get him winded then run stuff at him I know it's not the same but we did this to mizzous best pass rusher if you remember he disrupted a couple plays on the first 2 drives and then was never heard from again.

It's not just Allen. It's Williams, Foster and the rest of Bama Defense Hitler youth (borrowing from Animal House).

OL play will be the key to the entire game. We can't have LF/Guice getting hit in the backfield. Give them a crease, just a crease to gain yards and move the chains. Win the TOP/field pos battle all night.

DE will need some time. Time to set his feet and throw downfield. He does a good job side stepping the rush, and he might need to run a few times. He needs to GET DOWN and don't let Foster tee off on him (or he'll get knocked out of the game).

I like ALL of the matchups in this game (WR v DB, our front 7 vs their OL, etc.) except our OL vs their front 7. IF we get dominated up front, we have no chance.

Personally I would run at him early. Be the aggressor. Punch him in the damn mouth. If he makes you pay then bring in D Will to stay back there with Danny and block Jon or Tim.

Will Weatherby be back for the Bama game? Will he make that much of a difference over what we have now? I hope the other Offensive linemen heal up because LSU will need everyone at full strength for the bama game.

This, early and often . Catch him with some cross blocks and have the fullback join in while clearing out for the RB. Bea him up.

I'm more worried about Tim Williams. I'd be willing to have an auxilliary TE line up against him and work on him with a personal foul or two...just to get his "attention"

Their front 7 is why we've lost every game to Bama in the last 4 years. The OL and TEs will have to have one of those special performances to be able to move the ball on the ground. That's where this game will be won/lost.

LSU's OL has to play their best game of the year. However, the TE's, FB's RB's have to help the OL out as well.

A large chunk of LSU's passing game comes off of playaction attempts to drive the ball down field. I don't think they are going to have time to do much of that this game. I'd much rather see the PA used to create some misdirection in the passing game...bootlegs, drag a TE across to the opposite side of the action. Also, come up with some formations to create disadvantages. I'd love to see LSU do some things to get Guice in space one-on-one with an LB. He's shifty enough to make guys miss. If they are going to throw it to LF, the middle of the field is where there could be some space.
