There was a thread yesterday afternoon that got anchored that said exactly that and had many people agreeing with it.
anyone who chooses 3 is a horrible fan and most likely a shitty human being

You can't just look at the losses. What about the games that we won but were way closer than they should have been. And that's just not this year.
Awwe they didn't win by enough to satisfy you. How sad is that perspective last time i checked a win is a win which is a win which if you haven't realized goes in the W column. Baylor is looking for new fans right now they beat everybody by 60 have fun.

still gonna pull for my tigers to do the best they can. changes need to be made, but were not to the point of "pulling for" the team to lose for the betterment of the program. that was the case at the end of 99.

I've been flamed and RA'd for saying people want lsu to lose because they hate miles. Those people are selectively choosing to not see the numerous people posting that it is true.

Excited with the strong finish and building momentum for a strong next season with Harris and LF?
Happy, but frustrated with WTF happened in early November?
Annoyed because it means Miles will be the coach for the foreseeable future?
I'll be excited for the future
Pissed about Nov
Want Miles gone
Want Miles to stay

quote:Well you had Herbstreit and Corso, the two most well know CFB analysts, pick us to play for the national title before the season so....I don't think it's accurate to say no one thought we'd win the SEC.
How so? No one expected us to win it this year.

Come on.
Harris had plenty of time to be the guy. Dural and Dupre all with experience. Fournette in his second year with great backs behind him.
Most importantly, Alabama lost their entire offense from last year. This was our chance. We fricked it up.
I don't see what's so hard to understand about it. Your windows for championships can be so small you have to get it at the right time, ESPECIALLY when you have a once in a lifetime type of talent on your team (Fournette, Cam, Tyrann, etc.)

You don't think letting teams like Western Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, and the vaunted Syracuse Orangemen (losers of 7 in a row) hang around longer than they should have was indicative of the strength of this team? It's easy to make excuses for that when we haven't lost yet, but when we face an actual tough team, we get bopped in the nose really hard and are still reeling when a 4 loss team comes to our house and drags us through the mud.
We could have, and probably should have, lost to Mississippi State. That's my point. It's just not the two losses you have to take into consideration.

I'm sorry, but 10-2 is absolutely meaningless. I know we haven't always been this good, but with the talent we have, we should be in contention for a national championship every year. If losing out (with the exception of A&M, frick those queers) or dropping a few along the way means moving on from Miles, I'm alright with that.

Unrealistic expectations are often met with disappointment that isn't warranted.

It's his first year starting.

OK, and they've performed well for the most part until the offensive line got dominated two weeks in a row.

You seem really focused on only one side of the ball. And I guess Henry and Drake weren't on Bama's team last year? They last Sims and Cooper. And they have a ridiculous front 7 on D.

This year was not our window. That's what I don't understand. Just because Herbie and Corso said it is, doesn't make it any less unrealistic.

We started Nov contending. That's called being in contention.

I value everyone s opinion but if you are satisfied with L M and his conservative play calling, his reluctance to change is very disturbing.
Is there someone who can do better??? But as a long time supporter and season ticket holder I am r day for a change.

quote:Maybe this is not the proper thought, but I would rather not get embarrassed on the biggest stage again. We are who we thought we were when the season began. All 7-0 did was keep the negatigers at bay. If we win out, that's a testament to the fortitude of the players and coaches.
I will think we blew an opportunity to play for it all...
If you've given up on the season, don't watch anymore and we won't have to hear your opinion on tRant.

I've always said that the LSU fanbase would be upset and want to fire the coach if we went 14-0 but won every game by 1 point.

It's called symptoms. Like I said, it's fine as long as you're winning, making excuses of "well they just play down to their opponents" and the sort. Then a good team takes you to the woodshed and you start to think maybe they weren't as good as we thought.
Now, this team is full of top notch talent, so that's where you lean towards coaching and preparation. Of course Alabama, with it's front 7, was going to do everything they could to bottle up Fournette, but did it seem that we had a plan for that?
