Regardless of what some say, Matt was good enough to help a team to a NC. We have seen what shitty QBs with otherwise good teams have done. If we would have had Matt instead of JJ, we just might have one or two more NC's in our trophy case.

Long post, but this stood out. For as many sacjs he took, not a lot. He git out of more with pure strength. He didnt have fumbling isuues in 06, minis the UF game, but the whole team played like shite.

Wasn't pretty. Plus there was a monsoon right before kickoff.

And an awesome streaking performance during delay.

Can't wait to meet Mauck next week at Denver LSU Alumni boil. Well if he shows

Mauck was a good QB. Mostly serviceable and sometimes very good. He was never the guy who you game planned around like Jamarcus and Flynn but did win many games for LSU.

I disagree with the AJ analogy. Mccaron is better.

well they didn't have the luxury of having the best oline and defense in LSU history.

He threw like 10-12 interceptions with 4 touchdowns against ranked teams in 2003. In our 2 biggest games (Ole Miss and Oklahoma) he shite the bed.

Mauck was gone and it was JaMarcus' first start. Marcus Randall had to bail JR out on that game.

Randall started, JR came in and led us back. Supermanned into the endzone on the 2pt conversion

Exactly. Mauck was ok but really was the weak link on 2003. People who say he was better than Flynn have an odd memory.

I didn't get a chance to watch too many games last fall, but my comment after seeing the Auburn game was: "He makes Ryan Mallett look like Baryshnikov."

I'll probably get some heat for this but it wouldn't surprise me to see Jennings get some real playing time this year.

I always was a fan of Mauck. the '02 team could've done special things had he not gotten hurt against FLA and you saw that in '03. He was a good game manager and a good QB, that said it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. He had off days as every QB does but he had a good team around him to compensate.

Had he come back in '04 I believe we could've been back in the NC picture again and not losing on the last play to Iowa in Orlando.

IMHO
