How could LSU be fairly compensated for losing the November 19th home game?

These are my Chicken thoughts:
If we lose a home game this year, how likely do you think it would be that BYU would come to Baton Rouge instead of playing us in Houston? The local community would get the benefit of an 8th home game (versus just 7).
On top of that, we would need to be fairly compensated for losing our home game against South Alabama (including paying South Alabama off). As a matter of fact, it shouldn't cost LSU a cent to travel to Gainesville for the game.
Finally, how do you feel about the idea of playing Florida on Friday, November 18th? LSU and Florida would have the same number of days to prepare for each other, but LSU would have one more day than Texas A&M to prepare for our game against them.

We're not playing 3 SEC away games in 12 days. Negligence of player safety.

There is no reason for LSU to stand down, as the SEC had an obligation to have the issue settled last week, or at least an attempt.
The SEC could say, look the rule is you must have 8 games. LSU then says okay when? Any future game reschedule should not damage LSU further as the SEC failed to mitigate.
LSU is very much aware of this. The SEC must now provide the remedy as they were the ones ultimately responsible for cutting the damages.

not likely. pretty sure we'd be breaking a contract advocare stadium. plus that is still a long time away to count for an "economic make-up" for the local community.

best idea i heard yet but ONLY if LSU doesn't have to pay the buy out to USA.

I would rather BYU come to BR instead of Houston, no matter what. It would be nice to have good non-conference games back in Tiger Stadium, especially since I'm a season ticket holder now.

I doubt the city of Houston would be very happy about that. They'd probably just find BYU another opponent. On top of that, we'd probably end up playing some FCS home opener.

- SEC pays the USA Buyout
- LSU plays UF in Baton Rouge on the 19th
- LSU/A&M is moved to Saturday the 26th

Minimum SEC pays off USA and gives LSU the average income for a game.
The truth, so many businesses need the extra business that is associated with a home game, I don't think you can put a price tag. Adding 1 next year would help the long run, but being so soon after all the floods I feel is that the game is needed. I know some restaurants are just starting to re-open. On game days their business picks up. I have friends that are still waiting on insurance money to start re-building their homes.

Why would LSU agree to that? Or more like Florida?

I don't like it Chicken. I don't like it because we still would have to play 3 away games in 13 days. and only because of that asshat AD at uf. I would rather not play the game than give in to him.
the SEC commissioner folded like a 98 pound weakling and now LSU has to pay the price? there are other solutions that are better; like moving the uf/uga game up a day, moving the seccg back a week, etc.
it appears that the sec office has no power to solve this problem as uga just said no to moving their game. I think it better not even to play the game and let the chips fall. foley and sec comish ruined the sec this year.
maybe it would be best to get another team as our fixed east opponent. I have loved this game for almost 50 years but don't care if we ever play those people again. i'm that angry.

They could pay off Miles' buyout and Herman's moving expenses and we'll call it even

Alleva is doing a fine job. Let me explain it to you.
- the sec failed to mitigate
- the sec now can't damage LSU to correct which they messed up
- the sec can't force lsu and probably florida to change their schedule, although normally the could
- the sec will probably have to select how a divisional opponent is pick... percentage or divisional record
There is nothing to do but wait and win.

I just don't think this is a viable option. You really don't want to start messing up schedules for seasons beyond this one which is already majorly screwed up. It is LSU best interest to play the game under the current rules for making the SECCG. The best case scenario is to move the USA game to Oct 29th, and play UF on the 19th.
Posted on 10/11/16 at 6:25 pm to Chicken
I like the Friday option AND UF would have to be willing to revenue share to offset the loss.

There are only two options. Florida plays in Baton Rouge on 11/19 and compensates our regularly scheduled opponent for the loss of the LSU game. In return, our home game next year will become a Florida home game. Otherwise, Florida forfeits and LSU gets the victory.
After all it was Florida’s AD and the SEC Commissioner that created this nightmare, as Alleva bent over backwards to try to play the game on schedule.

Florida does not want to play the game. Get it? It doesn't matter if LSU showed up drunk, why in the world would the Gators play on any date?

LSU plays Florida in December.
They are swapped out from our 'cross-rivalry' game with Missouri
