I have never been before and was wondering what are some cities that you can stay in that are close to Oxford? I know Memphis but I was kind of thinking somewhere so I can head back closer to New Orleans

Probably looking at Grenada at this point. Memphis is about the only viable option to be around nightlife if you can't get into Oxford or Batesville which isn't that bad of a drive from Oxford.

Many students/faculty rent out their condos during football season, esp this game since its the start of Thanksgiving break for them. Take a look at their campus newspaper "The Daily Mississippian"

They only have motels. But they doctor the roach motels up with chandeliers and wine glasses so you have the hotel feel.

I booked at Comfort Inn, 255 S. Frontage Road, Grenada about two weeks ago for $115/night.

I may have an extra room. If you hit a wall, send me an email. goose11262@yahoo.com

I'm staying in southaven, ms is a little drive but it's right outside Memphis so I can enjoy Memphis fri night and then head to the game sat. This will be my first game at om, is the tailgating good and what would ya'll recommend seeing while I was there.

If you're looking Oxford south try Batesville first then Grenada.

That game is all but set to be a 2:30 CBS game so we'll drive up to Memphis Friday night, go down to the game Saturday and leave right after the game for BR and be in bed by 1am.

Tailgating in Oxford is sort of like communist Russia. Everyone gets an identical red tent and is told to stay in a small square. No open flames or generators, so you will literally bump into your friends after the game (in the dark).
