The issue is that once we got a 14-3 lead the play calling became conservative beyond words and nearly let State steal the game.
It's not like we were running and getting 7 yards every play. They were stuffing is at the line and even though LF would occasionally break one, they were still forcing too many 3 and outs. Again, that nearly cost the game.
Not only that, we were riunning out of formations that told everyone watching exactly what was coming.
I'm not sure why people can't understand this.
Nothing wrong with a conservative, run-first offense. But could we mix in a little deception once in awhile, maybe some fakes, bootlegs, etc.?
For instance, LF is dangerous as a runner. He could also be dangerous as a decoy.

LSU should never play scared ever. We should do what we want and need to do. If you do that in the first 3 quarters LSU will not need to worry about 5 more minutes added to the clock? That shouldn't be on any of our coaches minds. With a nice lead we could play our backups on the front seven also. LSU should always attack the other teams weakness and States weakness was obviously the secondary. We need to start attacking these secondaries because it's lots of teams weak area and can build confidence in your team. Just mix the calls up like we did in the first quarter?? It was working fine why stop? It looked pretty easy so why stop, LF and the rest of these guys would benefit also. The line can blow the DL off the ball because they have no idea what's coming. Kill their will and kick their butts. BH has a nice fake so use it. Remember he also has the option to run and keep the clock running without getting hit, slide. LSU has recruited real weapons time to use these weapons dog gonnit!
