This wasn't just a regular season game. That's why many LSU fans aren't just passing over this one, even though we're getting there. It's not gonna just "go away" though. The 2000 UAB loss went away because LSU beat #11 Tenn the very next week. The 2005 Tenn game went away when LSU won every single other game (except the SEC Champ game). This one is gonna lurk around since there's a very long offseason, the basketball team is mediocre, who knows what'll happen in baseball.

Thank you

It amazes me how people can say this was just another game

FWIW....

From a good "source". Lee's girlfriend dumped him several weeks ago and he went into a depression. Other players had to go to his apt just to get him to go to practice and classes (hence the whole missing classes/grades thing). You could tell at times by watching him on the sidelines that he just wasn't into the game anymore. i know its just a "source" but take it FWIW. If this is the case...Les should've put in Mett.

p.s. i don't necessarily believe it...just what i've been told.

i would've started a thread but it would've whacked with the quickness

I don't want to ramp up the speculation stuff but I learned of this same news back before western Kentucky game and talked about it and it caused some posters to melt down in anger and denial.

Jefferson finished with a 138.7 rating and will not play in the NFL unless Miles becomes an NFL coach.

He put his choice above what was best for the team. Will he have to explain this...probably not.

You are assuming you knew/know what's best for LSU better/more than a 13-1, 9-0, west champs, SEC champs, and BCSNCG LSU staff who spent a year 24/7 with the team.

I would have given Lee a series late in the 3rd, but I'm not gonna stomp my feet cause I didn't get what I wanted.

We didn't go 13-0 due to QB play.

Bama stuffed our coaching staff and our players in this game just like we stuffed most of the 13 teams we played in route to 13-1 and #2 NRing.

I don't really need/require the LSU staff to explain to me the why of who plays and who doesn't when that staff is giving me west, SEC titles and BCSNCGs, but each to our own.

My Cajun friends just don't get it. Miles did a super job at LSU this year and for that matter during the Perilloux debacle.1] It has been obvious from the start that Lee [the best QB] never had the full support of the entire team. 2] The entire team would always rally behind JJ [the inferior QB] therefore he was always did reasonably well. Les recognized this and handled it well. 3] The ONLY time that the team supported Lee was when JJ was suspended and they had NO CHOICE but to support Lee. 4] Les made a critical mistake by not keeping JJ on suspension and making Mett his backup.5] This cost him the NC.

There really isn't any arguing that the offense became less effective after the first Alabama game

You mean other than the fact that the LSU total offense ranked #87 nationally after Bama 11-5 with a scoring O ranked #20 and our total O ranked #62 after Arkansas with a scoring O ranked at #12???

Bama stuffed us...I don't like it anymore than anyone else, but thats what happened.

We can look at this and we can look at that, but in the end they just stuffed us anyway you want to look at it. imo

I've heard this same rumor, almost word-for-word.
Which means absolutely nothing...for all I know, we could be getting it from the same "source". And it still wouldn't explain why Mett didn't get some snaps, in preparation for nexxt year if nothing else.
