Sure, he had a rough game at 3rd last night but when it counted, when he needed to get a hit, he delivered. Big 2-run double in the 14th to win it.

Way to go, senior!

It counted when he booted that ball. We win in nine if he doesn't do that. It was definitely an error, too.

If he'd have charged that bounce in the bottom of the ninth instead of trying to backhand it in the dirt, we wouldn't have needed his double in the 14th. And we'd still have Person fresh for the bump.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to take anything away from his clutch offensive effort... But we have GOT to find someone who is not a defensive liability for third...

Until last night, he's been pretty solid to this point. He had a bad game, not sure I'd call him a liability.

Naw it wasnt just last night. He had a bad A&M series as well. He's a liability at 3rd. The entire infield outside of Bregman is a liability. Hopefully it doesnt cost us in the postseason but it continues to show up in critical moments.

feels weird having such a great outfield as well as a superstar SS and then having everything else be below average

He certainly deserves credit for the hit. It was huge. I almost wonder if he's hurt. Or maybe i just noticed he has absolutely zero lateral movement until recently.

Twice in the A&M series i watched him just stare at grounders go into left field. I have no idea what he was doing. I'm certain he could have gotten to one.

He did it again in the 9th on the ball bregman kept out of the outfield. If you can pull the video up go back and look at it. He just freaking sits there. He eventually breaks on it but the ball was basically past him by that point.

Granted i'm not sure he gets to that ball anyway, but it's like the dude is zoned out or something.

eta: i just watched the replay of the play above from last night and it wasnt as bad as i remembered it live. so nevermind on all that.

Not sure why anyone is saying this. That would have been an incredibly tough double play to turn. If he would have charged it, he would have had absolutely no chance to turn and get the lead runner. Yes, he should have gotten an out on the play, but given that the next guy hit the first pitch he saw about 410 feet to dead center 3/4ths of the way up the wall and Stevenson fell down trying to field the ball, we still would have needed that double in the 14th. Saying that the ball that fat bastard hit SHOULD have been a double play is pretty critical.
