Dan Patrick made this statement minutes ago on his morning show, when speaking about having to compete in the recruiting world with Nick Saban, Les Miles and Jim Harbaugh.

Patrick gave credit to Saban and Harbaugh for having the ability to both recruit and win, and decided to take a jab at Miles.

I can't really disagree with him in terms of recruiting a Top 5 class but barely being able to finish in the Top 25.

I don't think anyone can deny that recruiting has saved Miles' job.

He has to "eat a dick" because he said a factual statement?

Miles has been a more successful coach than Harbaugh.

If you want to state the obvious and say that Saban is the best in the business and for whatever reason bring Miles into the conversation, then okay, whatever.

But spare me the Harbaugh hype until he has the hardware that Miles has earned.

I'll agree to an extent

but there have been plenty of coaches they have recruited at a high level that couldn't coach, like Zook and Muschamp, and they did not last as long as Miles

if Miles truly couldn't coach, he wouldn't have had the longevity that he has had because it normally catches up with them really quick

No surprise really. Miles is considered a good manager. He can recruit, kids love him no doubt. On the field, he's been as good as his assistants he hires. Offense has been meh. Aranda looks to be getting D back to "LSU standards" and as for Special Teams....well BDP needs to take a hike.

Exactly. Just what has Harbaugh actually done?

How is this a jab?

It's a statement of opinion that mirrors what a lot of people think.

Exactly. Harbaugh has yet to win jack shite. All he's done is act like a fool on the recruiting trail & pimp himself out every chance he gets, wins a few games but he's lost almost every big game UM has been in.

I'm going to make a really bold statement and say...he's probably not THAT great of a recruiter either. I'm not saying he's not good. I just think it gets over stated because he coaches at LSU. LSU recruiting goes back to Gerry Dinardo. Keep Louisiana kids in state and you're pretty loaded with talent consistently. Again, yes he's a top 10 recruiter, but the location and being the only relevant school in the state helps him out.

Let the down votes roll in...

Gospel. And lets be honest coaches like Corey Raymond, O and Frank do the recruiting.

Harbaugh took a struggling franchise and put them in the super bowl. He took a Michigan program that has been mired in mediocrity and has already turned them into a top 10-15 team without the roster that most powerhouses have. He also took Stanford out of nowhere and made USC and Pete Carrol his whipping boy. I'd say he's a pretty damn good coach. Stanford for crying out loud!

He doesn't have the hardware that Les has...yet. But if you can't see that Harbaugh is one of the top 5 coaches in the college game then you aren't paying close attention.
