I've never had a problem with Hawthorne's voice nor his rhythm calling the game. I just get frustrated with the inaccuracies especially during football games. The down and distance math doesn't add up sometimes.

But I know he is a true Tiger and I can appreciate that.

If you were lucky enough to hear John Ferguson call a tiger game count yourself blessed. He will always be the voice of Tiger Football!

Always been the voice of the Tigers for me. I remember living in East Texas for five years in the 90's. I would tune my radio to try to find WWL and hear Jim's voice. It is distinctive so you always knew when you found it.. A lot of good memories.

It makes absolutely zero sense to criticize Hawthorne at this stage. The guy has been a part of every great LSU moment For everyone under the age of 40. And he is retiring.

The people who still are complaining are just pathetic and have no idea of how good Hawthorne was at his best.

Actually I have heard Hawthorne from day 1 and he still makes the same mistakes as he did Day 1!

Just a hack

My father in law was with him when he stated calling games for radio in Shreveport I think. They were both djs. He says they went out and had to call some high school game or something when no one else would do and had a card table etc. about 30 minutes into it he looked over at JH and said " man you are really great at this a natural. " rest is history
