're right, Rick. They overlook the 3-21 in conference at Ole Miss and want O because of his accent. Unbelieveable.

I just dont get it. Id be more in favor of hiring Aranda than coach O. I keep asking these coach O guys if he would eve get interviews as a defensive coordinator at the other big time programs and they refuse to answer it.
There 30-40 coordinators with better resumes than Ed Orgeron.

every coach loses. The best coach in cfb woth the best talent, loses to an inferior team every year.

Also if orgeron was good enough to watrant getting a HC job the im sure there wpuld be seasons of him underachieving. But he isnt so...

Coach o is 3rd or 4th on our coaches list and that's fair. Dunno why ppl are so against him he's done wonders with a team left for dead by miles incompetence. You can't judge him by ole miss alone since then he's gone 10-3 that's what he should be judged by.

I'm so ready for this bull shite coaching search to be over.

I should've known our fans would screw this up.

O has never ran a successful football program. That is the number 1 requirement for this job.

Its really as simple as that.

What? Why? He wasnt a good enough coach to warrant getting defensive coordinator job offers.

Wonders? We were supposed to be this good. He has beaten teams that cant stop the run.

Would bama , ohio state, fsu , Michigan or notre dame hire O as a defensive coordinator? frick no yet you want him as a head coach? Man you are smarter than that. Ed Orgeron will run this program into the ground. His coaching ability isnt thought of enough to be offered coordinator positions. He is a 55 year old position coach. My god.

What? You dont give miles credit for lsu's 1st 3 years under miles yet are giving O credit for this season? Come on bruh.

Youre wrong Sport.

COACH ED ORGERON HAS NEVER RAN A SUCCESSFUL SIDE OF THE BALL. LET ALONE A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM

Thats right. The coach some of you are tripping over yourself to hire has never once ran a successful defense. Not one time in his career has be successful as a HC,defensive coordinator, or offensive coordinator.

Fisher has actually ran a successful side of the ball and ran a program that won a nationa title.

The "know it alls" said the exact same thing about Pat Riley. "He's not head coach material. He hasn't paid his dues."

Widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time, Riley has served as the head coach of five championship teams.

Often times the grass looks greener.....

We were supposed to be this good but weren't under miles to start. He gets credit because he's done more in the same season miles coached you know that. And he deserves to be on the list because he's been a head coach before arranda hasn't and you want arranda concentrating on coaching d. You hit the nail on the head he's doing what we are supposed to do he's not underachieving like miles was. I want Herman or jimbo outside of that we are looking at utahs coach and coaches like him I'm taking O before that because he is a top 5 recruiter and he already had a great staff minus an oc. And with his vast relationships and contacts throught the coaching fraternity he'll be able to get a great oc.

Thought that was because of Steve Ensminger.

CEO gets all the credit though.

Please ... Let the A.D. and/or whoever has the authority to make this hire, to do it. All this emotional lobbying is worthless. I have been all over the place on this, but have come to the conclusion that Miles wasn't fired so early in the season, to permanently hire a position coach. I'm putting aside the boudin, all the cool Cajun stuff, and just noting that Orgeron was hired as a position coach, not a coordinator. He has done a great job... which is why part of me can see him as permanent coach. But if we can hire Fisher, that is a no-brainer.

You're missing the point. I'm not talking about the fact that they are winning games. I'm talking about the little things. Again, pre-snap penalties...hell, even holding calls, etc have fallen way off. Plays are getting in quicker (yes, I understand the Bama game had a couple struggles there). Special teams are vastly improved. Injuries are reduced due to not beating each other up all week. I'm not seeing players with hands on their hips all game gassed. Lots of younger or inexperienced guys are getting reps which will help next year.

Quit focusing on whether we are winning games, and whether we would have won them anyway. Look at what the team is doing, how they are playing, and compare that to what they were doing. I was on the fence about O, but after paying attention to the little things, it's much clearer now.

I love the fact that ppl judge him on things that happened 10 years ago but totally disregard what's happened in the past couple of years. Most coaches get better with experience and almost none win at a high level right away.
