Those are both in state games. Why are you so adamant about LSU/ark playing on the final weekend of the regular season?

Bc it’s called rivalry week & every other SEC opponent is a rivalry game.

You think the SEC is just gonna say “oh well, no in state rivals. Let’s pair Louisiana with Oklahoma”?

LSU/Ok would definitely be more exciting and anticipated than LSU/ar. Why wouldn’t the SEC want that?

The fact that we are not playing Mississippi State speaks volumes. I believe we have played them more than any other team. Says a lot about what the conference thinks about rivalries

You sound so stupid right now. In what universe is LSU a rival to Mississippi State? Look at it from States perspective. Don’t you think they’d like to have one less juggernaut on their slate?

You are coming off as if you want an easier schedule so you prefer State over OU. Don’t be a puss. LSU vs OU is gonna be badass. They haaaaate LSU

Neither is LSU/ar.

How many more posts you gonna make saying that?

Agree to disagree. You can think it’s not a rivalry, but it’s a trophy game between opponents that played each other 70 times.

So they’ve played each other 70 times and it still doesn’t create much excitement or anticipation? That’s pretty much the definition of a game that’s not a rivalry. Is your only criteria for a game to be a rivalry based on the number of times the game has been played?

Neither does Tennessee-Vandy or UGA-GA Tech
Is your only criteria for a rivalry game is in-state schools?

Absolutely not - earlier I clearly said that 1 aspect of a rivalry game is that it generates a lot of excitement on both sides. LSU/ark doesn’t come close to meeting that standard. Is that so difficult to understand?

No, I clearly understand what you’re saying, but the SEC doesn’t take that into account for other rivalries.

We can keep going in circles or we can wait till 6PM

I like Arky on Friday after Thanksgiving.

As someone who makes every home game…

The 1:00 PM Friday after Thanksgiving game was always the most lightly attended SEC West game of the season. The only year it had a big crowd, to LSU’s standard, was 2011.

It was packed in ‘03 as well. ‘07 was close to full. It just always depended on our season.

Yes. Two teams who are usually top 20 teams, many times better, is a great matchup to end the year with.

It’s been over a decade since Arkansas went into the last week of a season in the top 25.

I did miss that one.

You are probably right. I was there but it was a while ago. I just remember that the 2011 season I was shocked how full the stadium was. Not a seat left open.

Okla-MIzzou is not a rivalry either.

No matter what the SEC does, neither LSU nor Oklahoma has a rivarly game that weekend.

None of that has anything to do with me liking LSU playing Arkansas on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

We might end up with a Friday after Thanksgiving Oklahoma game.

Name the last LSU-Arkansas game in the last 10 years where both teams were relevant, dude. The 2011 game happened 12 years ago.
