Hannagriff just noted when discussing Coach O’s contract extension, that there’s an ocean of difference between you (LSU) and Alabama. But there’s also an ocean of difference between Oklahoma and Alabama, yet the Sooners coach just received a $6 million contract extension.

The Oklahoma coach made the playoff the last two seasons.
Before people say that’s because OU didn’t play Alabama in the regular season... LSU has a legitimate shot to make it every season by going 11-1 with a loss to Alabama. Orgeron went 9-3 the last two seasons.

Hanny is correct but LSU is closing that gulf and I predict that bama is at it's peak with only one way to go.

So, the Sooners haven’t been in any CFPs lately?
It’s ridiculous to liken LSU over the past 5 years to any team that has won a conference championship and played in the CFP during that time.

Orgeron fans tell everyone not to use Alabama as a barometer, but love to use it in this instance.. Alabama is far better than everyone, so he deserves a raise! What they fail to understand is that LSU isn't in the same universe as Oklahoma right now

The OU HC is a hot property that already has been sought by other teams. This fact is NOT true of EdO. I love EdO and support him, but no teams are beating down the door to hire him as HC.
Extend EdO 2 years and pay him whatever. But, PLEASE reduce the way his buyout is structured to $1 mil per year left on his contract. If we extend his present contract 2 hears at $4.5 mil, his buyout next Dec 1 would be $18 million. It is $5.5 mil now.

Let’s not act like the SEC has been world beaters the last two seasons. LSU played 5 SEC teams that fired their coach in 2017.

Because the SEC is far more competitive than the B12, which is just OU, Texas and a bunch of B8 and Southwest conference teams.

I no exactly what your saying and I want to agree but alabama every year and our permanent opponent Florida plus at least 1 or 2 sec west teams surprise every year... not the same vs a clemson or oklahoma plays every year. They may be a better team but I guarantee you they dont make playoffs every year like they have been. Put either of them in our spot it just doesnt happen.. auburn and lsu literally just got the worst draw you can.

Did you watch the season and how LSU finished. LSU is taking steps to improve as a program. If you don't see that I don't know what to tell you.

I guarantee you all those schedules had teams as good or better than pretty much everyone we’ve lost to besides Alabama
