Why do some of you say this has been handled poorly? Les had a good run , but his time has passed. Alleva or whoever is making the call have given Les a chance to get it together. It has not happened. If Les is gone, I assume someone is in place to take over.If not, then Alleva is a fool. I like Les, but we are being out coached on a weekly basis. asian luck to Les, and I truly believe that you love LSU.

Because you make a move (after keeping the situation under wraps) or you dispel the rumors by backing Miles.

If Miles is retained now, he will be a lame duck and that is a very bad thing for a football program.

Most of them are saying to help create a narrative to keep Miles. Transparent ploy.

Didn't love them too much when he was using rumors to get more money without winning anything of significance did he? So why is everyone so butt hurt he's being rumored into being fired? He deserves to be fired more than he deserved more money in my opinion.

#team Alleva

I think he's handled this fine so far.

the University. the media. everyone! This Coach has done so much for this Football Program and for LSU that he deserves a better send off (if this is is) than this.

110 wins apparently counts for nothing.

When someone has been in a place for a decade its always difficult to find the right way to move on. What doesn't help are the leaks going out to CFB beat writers/reporters.

Alleva and the BOS, it's unprofessional. Miles is very well respected in his profession and deserves more respect than this.

He deserves to be fired, but doing this to him only hurts LSU.

I agree and I think once the end result goes down people will be very happy. Just need to be patient, a lot of stuff is in play, not so simple as some think.

Be pissed at Alleva for the last extension putting us in this pickle, but that's in the past and can't do anything about that now.

Incorrect, you fire miles by showing up with a big box and a security guard

Not by being coy and floating rumors to gauge the perception.

Miles held the AD hostage to do what was best for him a few years ago and now LSU is doing what's best for them. It goes both ways and people need to stop this woe is Miles crap.

Look at the negative press LSU is getting. It will make a difference when hiring the next coach.

I'm not woh is me. I'm just telling the truth about the situation.

This place just doesn't like national media talking about what they see. Perception is huge right now and Alleva is fricking it up

Right, and it wasn't splashed all over the news for a week

Miles is a big boy. I don't worry about him, I worry about the perception of incompetence in the AD

Alleva's hands were tied in 2012. Les had him by the balls and went all out. Alleva had to give in to keep him. He would have looked very bad if he didn't do every thing possible to keep him.

Alleva started pushing back by not offering Chavis something no other asst coach in the country got.

and if all goes according to plan, then it won't matter.

Michigan was a laughingstock for a few weeks last year until they landed the guy they had pegged when they initially ousted Fred Flinstone.

Alabama looked like a shite show until they landed Saban.

Perception isn't reality and is largely irrelevant.

Right and I think this is why the 2 have such a strained relationship.

BillJ is spot on. Give it time.

To those that feel bad for Les, it's never pretty when you replace a coach. That's why he gets a $15 million dollar going away present.
